I'd advise concentrating on articles on players/managers that do pass the notability guideline, as otherwise your work is likely to be in vain (as articles will almost certainly be deleted). Cheers, Number 57 15:35, 7 January 2020 (UTC)

- The guideline requires players to have played for a senior international team or a club in a fully-professional league. Playing in youth tournaments like the U17 World Cup wouldn't not be sufficient for notability purposes. There are a small number of exceptions, where players have received significant media coverage in independent sources. However, my personal view is that if you're famous for being a footballer, but haven't actually ever played professionally or internationally, I would question whether there is really any enduring notability. Many young players are hyped up in the press (especially in the Premier League) but never make it.
- With regards to the source code, I will happily undelete any articles for you on request if the player passes the notability threshold through international or league appearances (the code remains accessible for admins). Cheers, Number 57 12:33, 8 January 2020 (UTC)
