the signature

This is how the sig looks in my browser. Font tags are totally ninties ;-). Plus the font you specify is so specific that most people probably won't have it, and the size you specify makes the sig look humongous. Is that intentional? If not check out the em unit in CSS. --Dschwen 16:35, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's not intentional. I didn't know that.
I should not use that font tag. Thanks. Anyway, here is in my monitor => sig-sample. Ha ha ha. -- Laitche (talk) 16:59, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh. Yeah, that looks much prettier :-). Too bad it doesn't seem to work for everybody. --Dschwen 17:37, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rose Kardinal

Regarding Wikipedia:Featured picture candidates/File:Rose Kardinal crop.jpg, I worked from your JPG, obviously. You're more than welcome to try the same technique (or use any technique) and redo the image from your original file, in order to make sure quality is the best it can be. Cheers! – Kerαunoςcopiagalaxies 04:00, 29 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Btw Laitche, my correction for the above image was wrong. I used Lab to create a mask in the red/green spectrum, which wasn't the problem. But instead of reducing the red saturation with a hue/saturation adjustment (or similar), I ended up using a curves layer to pull the red toward the green color, resulting in changing the actual color, not desaturating it. I didn't realize my mistake until a few days ago. I thought I'd clarify and apologize here since I saw your name on the FPC page again :) As for the saturation of the rose, that was my own opinion, others found it okay. – Kerαunoςcopiagalaxies 17:11, 18 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Japanese pygmy woodpecker

The Japanese pygmy woodpecker (Yungipicus kizuki) is a species of woodpecker native to coniferous and deciduous forests in Russia, China, North Korea, South Korea and Japan. With a length of about 140 mm (5.5 in), its plumage is a dark greyish-brown, barred and blotched with white, with pale brown, streaked underparts. The male has a small red mark on the side of its nape, which the female lacks. It usually occurs in pairs or mixed-species foraging flocks, searching on trees for invertebrates, such as spiders, caterpillars, ants and aphids, and berries. Breeding takes place in the spring, with the nest being in a hole excavated in a dead branch.

This picture shows a Japanese pygmy woodpecker photographed in Sakai, in Osaka Prefecture, Japan.

Brown-eared bulbul

The brown-eared bulbul (Hypsipetes amaurotis) is a medium-sized bulbul native to eastern Asia. Reaching a length of about 28 cm (11 in), it is grayish-brown, with brown cheeks (the "brown ears" of the common name), a small spiky crest and a long tail. A bird of the forest canopy, it is also found in plantations, parks and gardens. During the summer, the bird feeds primarily on insects, but in the winter the diet consists mainly of fruits and seeds. In addition, it feeds on nectar from Camellia flowers, becoming dusted with pollen in the process. This brown-eared bulbul was photographed in Tennōji Park in Osaka, Japan.
