Heron
Please don't add the Irish stuff back into the article. The Herons apparently derive their name from a nickname meaning "heron". Their name has nothing to do with any Irish name meaning "descendant of Eachthighearna". MacLysaght's book states that the Ua hEachtighearna are Dalcassians. The border Herons, on the other hand, are supposedly descended from the Herons of Chipchase, who are in turn supposedly recorded as early as the eleventh century in Northumberland. It's up to you to come up with a solid source stating that a particular Irish name is relevant to the border Herons. It's as simple as that. Take a look at these two pages:

Roddy McCorley
Hi MacMorrow Mór,
I've corrected the misleading assertion that Roddy McCorley was a Presbyterian, or a United Irishman. These are just an assumptions. I was asked to look into his life by the "Roddy McCorley Club" in Belfast when the historian Eamonn Phoenix claimed that as McCorley was on none of the lists of United Irishmen executed, he probably did not exist. My own discovery of the 1800 "Newsletter" article where he is called "Roger" is the primary proof of his actual existence. Both in F.J. Bigger's unpublished papers and locally at Duneane he is claimed to have been a Defender (another evident reason why he did not appear as a United Irishman in the Court Martial).
Should you have textual proof that he was either a United Irishman or a Presbyterian, I would be most interested, but while you might find a number unsupported assertions in print after Ethna Carbery's poem was printed, I cannot imagine anything early enough to be authoritative exists.

You've linked to the wrong page. Why shouldn't Major Samuel Morrow have a Wikipedia page. He's just as entitled to one as any of those other leaders from South Carolina. --MacMorrow Mór
