I nominated an article Suffrage Torch for DYK

I have not seen you so much at DYK so I thought I give it a try. See which hook I thought of here. Just wanted to let you know. The article is such a symbolic powerhouse of liberty and democracy I just had to bring it to DYK. Paradise Chronicle (talk) 23:15, 14 June 2021 (UTC)

Paradise Chronicle, thank you so much! I really enjoy writing about these suffrage efforts. Everyone involved was giving it their all! (Although my favorite part was the shade giving to the NJ suffs!) :D Megalibrarygirl (talk) 21:35, 18 June 2021 (UTC)

Ma'rid al-Hasna' fi Tarajim Mashahir al-Nisa' (Dictionary of the exemplary in the lives of famous women)

Hi there. While reviewing/rating women writer articles, I came across Maryam al-Nahhas, who, in 1879, published a woman's biographical dictionary: Ma'rid al-Hasna' fi Tarajim Mashahir al-Nisa' (Dictionary of the exemplary in the lives of famous women). I'm clueless how to locate it, but I think it would be a valuable resource for a Women in Red redlist. This is obvs not a priority. Mostly, I am so excited to know of its existence, and wanted to share that with someone; I figured you more than most would understand. --Rosiestep (talk) 13:46, 20 June 2021 (UTC)

Rosiestep, Let me see what I can do. Would be great to have more women from majority Muslim countries represented. :) Megalibrarygirl (talk) 20:54, 20 June 2021 (UTC)
Megalibrarygirl, cool! And BTW, I've noticed that you and others use "reply-link" so I just "downloaded" it and this will be my first attempt to use it. It certainly looks easy enough with a "reply" link next to each comment on this talkpage. Added benefits,auto-indent and auto-signature. Win-win-win. Seems to me that this should be auto-enabled for everyone, especially newbies. Rosiestep (talk) 21:36, 20 June 2021 (UTC)
Rosiestep, Strong agree! :D Megalibrarygirl (talk) 22:08, 21 June 2021 (UTC)
Rosiestep, also, finding the biographical dictionary is proving difficult. A lot of people reference it, but don't say where it is kept. Searching for the author on Worldcat bringing up some information in Arabic script, but I don't think it's correct. :( Megalibrarygirl (talk) 22:23, 21 June 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for checking! I'll ask about it in the wikiwomen TG channel as there are some Arabic speakers there. Rosiestep (talk) 22:53, 21 June 2021 (UTC)

DYK for Suffrage Torch

On 27 June 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Suffrage Torch, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the Suffrage Torch was a symbol of illumination during the Suffragist campaigns in the states of New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania in the summer of 1915 and the idea of Harriot Stanton Blatch? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Suffrage Torch. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Suffrage Torch), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
