Welcome

Hi Mothball, and

simplified ruleset. When you're contributing, you'll probably find the manual of style
to be helpful, and you'll also want to remember a couple important guidelines.

  1. Write from a neutral point of view
  2. Be bold in editing pages
  3. Use
    wikiquette
    .

Those are probably the most important ones, and you can take a look at some others at the

adding some images to your articles
.

Be sure to get involved in the community – you can contact me on

community portal
. And whenever you ask a question or post something on a talk page, be sure to sign your name by typing 4 tildes like ~~~~. Always sign the talk page, never the articles.

Again, welcome! It's great to have you. Happy editing!--May the Force be with you! Shreshth91($ |-| r 3 $ |-| t |-|) 10:02, 4 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome from the Wikichemists

Hey, Mothball (or should I call you

benzhydrol
. Thanks!

I wanted to mention the reason for my reverts on the

list of drugs. Things like DNA belong on the biomolecules list, especially when they don't have a definite chem structure, as with DNA. Chlorophyll
is probably a borderline case, but it is almost exclusively studied for its biochemistry, not its chemistry. See the introductory paragraph on list of organic compounds for details.

If you want help finding your way around the chemistry pages, Portal:Chemistry is a good place to start, you can also take a look at a short list on my user page. I would particularly encourage you to take a look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Chemicals (WP:Chem) and our worklist, which is (I believe) the most extensive on Wikipedia. The recent featured article (FA) on acetic acid was a product of this group. You may prefer to work on your own, but WP:Chem is good for coordinating activity, to make sure that we don't duplicate our efforts and that we standardise on certain formats. You will find us a very friendly and supportive group, things like edit wars are never seen here.

A minor thing- normally we only sign with four tildes when we leave a comment on a talk page. If you contribute to an article you don't do that, rather the attribution is found through the page history.

I do hope you'll stay and decide to join us. Welcome, Walkerma 05:21, 5 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your contributions to this article. I am concerned that the image you uploaded, Image:Uni precinct mappin.gif, may be a copyright violation - it looks as though you have highlighted the building on the University's own map. If so, we need to remove the image from Wikipedia. Warofdreams talk 10:39, 19 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, it's now been deleted. Warofdreams talk 16:03, 22 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I saw the entry on Haslington (which is where I was born and lived until 1961), and discovered it had been "taken over" by some people who claimed it was a kingdom of some sort. I changed it back and have added various bits to it, but I've now discovered that you are planning to expand various entries which I've already tinkered with. My apologies if I've stepped out of line with this. I hope it hasn't clashed too much with what you were planning to do yourself. I've also added an entry for Haslington Hall in the List of

Historic houses in England#Cheshire. Once again, sorry if this has pre-empted anything you wanted to do, or if I have broken protocol here. I only discovered you had a special interest in it now. ddstretch 00:26, 19 July 2006 (UTC)[reply

Disambiguation link fixing one-day contest

I have decided to put on a mini-contest within the

WP:DABCONCEPT page into an article, but you'll have to let me know me that you did so. Here's to a fun contest. Note that according to the Daily Disambig, we currently have under 256,000 disambiguation links to be fixed. If everyone in the disambiguation link fixers category were to fix 500 links, we would have them all done - so aim high! Cheers! bd2412 T 03:03, 18 November 2013 (UTC)[reply
