Mallard
Hi! Thanks a lot for picking mallard up for a PR. I have hopefully resolved the issues you listed so far. Just thought you might have forgotten about the article. Adityavagarwal (talk) 03:06, 25 July 2017 (UTC)
- @Adityavagarwal: I had forgotten about it actually, sorry! It looks a lot better to me, but I'll take a look now. N Oneemuss (talk to me · see my edits · email me) 09:24, 26 July 2017 (UTC)

- Hello there! I think I have addressed all the issues on mallard. Thanks! Adityavagarwal (talk) 07:38, 5 August 2017 (UTC)
- @N Oneemuss: Could we archive it, if the PR is completed? Adityavagarwal (talk) 21:09, 7 August 2017 (UTC)
- @Adityavagarwal: I think archiving it would be fine, I don't really have anything to add. I'm on holiday right now anyway, so I wouldn't be able to have a detailed look anyway. Sorry for the late reply! N Oneemuss (talk to me · see my edits · email me) 07:59, 8 August 2017 (UTC)

Review of copy edit
Hi! I quickly reviewed your copy edit of Fairoz Khan. You did a good job, nice linking and layout and use of inline cleanup tags. Here are my notes:
- Acronyms (see MOS:ACRO) – There are two recommended styles for acronyms. They can either be lower-case with full points (periods) or upper-case without full points. It generally looks better to use one style consistently in an article, though there are a number of exceptions (e.g.: am or pm for time, and sometimes U.S. for United States). PhD, MA, LLB should be without full points.
- PG was used in the article for post graduate, so I wrote that out in full on first appearance in body and lead (as should be done for most acronyms). CVPA was also defined later in the article, so I moved the expanded form up to first occurrence. A Wikipedia search for some other acronyms was able to turn up their definitions (from context).
- Capitalization – Regarding proper names, I believe it's a consideration of whether something is being used in a specific or generic sense. A post-graduate diploma from The Human Rights and Duties Education Department at Jammu University is specific. A post-graduate diploma in human rights and duties education from Jammu University is generic. (Just as political science was lowercase in the same sentence.)
- On the other hand, national secretary of the NSUI is a specific position, and I believe that gets capitals.
- Linking – It didn't seem necessary to me to link to common things like Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Law, etc., unless it's a link to a specific educational program. It's good to have helpful links, but links should only be provided for subjects the reader of the article is likely to follow. (see WP:OVERLINKING)
- Spacing at refs – In two places, there was a space between a series of references (caused by a blank line in the edit window). This can be tough to spot in the edit window but should be visible in preview. The problem with spaces at references is that a line-wrap could separate the reference note from what it's referencing – or leave the reference on its own line. If it makes it easier to read in the edit window, you can have a blank line inside the ref markup tags; but the <ref/><ref> tags should butt up against each other.
- There was also a tiny bit of extra punctuation at refs. Try to get in a habit of checking at refs, as that's a common place for problems to crop up (I try to catch those on my first or last pass of an article).
- Conversions - Numbers given in lakh and crore are valid for articles about India, but I always try to convert them to thousands or millions. So 14 lakhs (1.4 million) students.
- Prose:
- There was a weird "part of in the" that slipped through; I trimmed the "in". (I watch for adjacent prepositions, which can be confusing.)
- "as well as" is a bit wordy and can usually be replaced with "and".
- "also" can usually be trimmed.
- typos: niversity → university, latter on → later on
Khan has spoken at many rallies and seminars, such as a seminar about deforestation which he spoke at on 31 July 2012.
The sentence is talking about his speaking appointments, so the reader knows the example is about this and "which he spoke at" can be trimmed as redundant.- Good call on that incomprehensible line. I took my best guess at it and rephrased (trimming what appeared to be tone/trivia), and put a citation needed tag on it.
The following is an incomplete list of rallies that Khan has organised, spoken at or taken part in
trimmed ", spoken at" since this is logically included by "taken part in".
- Captions sometimes get overlooked, but it's a good idea to copy edit them.
Fairoz Khan Khan Reception on becoming National Secretary of the NSUI in Jammu and Kashmir.
Rephrased the beginning to "Fairoz Khan at a reception". Because this is a sentence fragment, it does not receive terminal punctuation.
I hope this helps you refine your copyediting. I know a lot of this is nit-picky, but this attention to detail is a big part of copy editing. You might want to read through the Manual of Style (a bit at a time, it's a tough read) or try out some of the exercises at Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/How to. The more copy editing you do, the more your brain will organize itself to catch these little things. Overall, I think you did a good job and definitely deserve a barnstar. Thank-you for your edits, and please keep up the good work! – Reidgreg (talk) 15:04, 2 August 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks Reidgreg for the detailed feedback, it seems very helpful! I'm actually on holiday right now so I don't have my laptop with me but I'll definitely have a closer look once I get back. I am certainly interested in taking part in the next drive or blitz. N Oneemuss (talk to me · see my edits · email me) 16:55, 4 August 2017 (UTC)

Hi, you won't know me but I've noticed your efforts to bring the Boston and Skegness constituency page to GA standard – great work! If you ever want to work on Sleaford and North Hykeham, I'd be happy to help/offer some pointers: improving Sleaford's articles was a pet project of mine for a while though I have less time to work on that sort of article improvement now. I still have a lot of useful reference material though. Anyway, if you're up for it, do drop me a message at some point. Happy editing, —Noswall59 (talk) 13:11, 22 February 2020 (UTC).

On 12 June 2020, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article 2016 Sleaford and North Hykeham by-election, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that one Labour MP said that the result of the 2016 Sleaford and North Hykeham by-election could foreshadow an "electoral disaster" for the party? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/2016 Sleaford and North Hykeham by-election. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, 2016 Sleaford and North Hykeham by-election), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

ArbCom 2020 Elections voter message
Hiya, I had a look over and left some comments on the talk page. I also compared it to some of the the few featured articles we have on elections (all from the US; I believe this would be the first British election to get a star) and I think you have a good chance at FAC. My one caveat would be that I don't know a lot about elections, and it's a more recent bit of history than I usually get involved in, so I'm not an expert. Great work, and let me know if or when you nominate it and I'll watchlist the FAC. Best, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 16:44, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
- @HJ Mitchell: Thank you very much for your feedback! I've addressed it and have nominated the article for FAC.N Oneemuss (talk to me · see my edits · email me) 20:40, 22 January 2021 (UTC)

A Brexit-supporting Conservative MP resigned to protest Prime Minister Theresa May's handling of the issue, triggering an election in his safe seat. The Conservatives held the seat easily, while UKIP rose to second and Labour fell to fourth.
