I see what you mean now. Thanks for the heads up. I have re-added the information contained in those two sentences in a hopefully more palatable way. Nkrita (talk) 12:28, 24 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It's important to remember that many people were "forced" to become dissidents. If you look at the first issue of the Chronicle and follow what happened to people who protested then it is striking how many wanted to be re-admitted to the Party, if they were expelled, or have various forms of censure removed from their records.
Thus the incomparable Grigorenko began as a reform Communist. Bukovsky, on the other hand, was always opposed root and branch to the system.
Only over time did a dissident milieu come into existence.
Just wanted to let you know that I'm willing to accept this draft, provided you add more content on his early and later life, as well as expanding the parts on his literary work. Thanks,
Just been using Vesti to follow up on certain people in the 1980s. It's a tremendous resoruce. Someone really should work on a better organised website for Vesti - it could be quite easy to do, and I'm willing to contribute.
I think it's time that the old Vesti website discouraged search engines. Because it's been there longer, it comes up first on a Google search but it's nowhere near as user-friendly (the upgraded website is getting hundreds of visits and dozens of visitors) - https://vestiizsssr.com

References in CCE article need your attention
I've been through the CCE artilce today working, in particular, on the question of when each issue appeared.
In adding new references to both CCE in English and Vesti iz SSSR in Russian I've disturbed the < ref name blah blah blah /> system of footnoting. Can you clear it up?
