Assessments
Could someone please assess English embroidery which I wrote and Embroidery which I substantially rewrote for quality? - PKM (talk) 18:18, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
- Done: B/mid and Start respectively. The EE article is great - could go to GA as it is. Johnbod (talk) 02:13, 15 March 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for looking over my boutis revisions
Hi - thanks for taking a look at the Provencal quilt article overhaul I did. Hopefully it's a lot clearer now, and I hope it also adds to the representation of non-American quilting on Wikipedia. Really apprecioate your taking a look. Mabalu (talk) 02:14, 7 February 2010 (UTC)

Dutch Golden Age clothes
Just come across this book by the leading expert - [1]. Also I will be getting a Margaret Scott (also leading expert) book on 14th & 15th century clothes from the library soon if you have any specific queries. How goes it? All the best. Johnbod (talk) 13:26, 28 March 2010 (UTC)
- I've only seen the online excerpts, which are very generous as regards text, but leave gaps for the pics, of which there seem to be loads. But it is pretty specialized to Rembrandt & his period. She did a short good introductory essay in: Rudi Ekkart and Quentin Buvelot (eds), Dutch Portraits, The Age of Rembrandt and Frans Hals, Mauritshuis/National Gallery/Waanders Publishers, Zwolle, 2007,Dutch Golden Age Painting. No online excerpts from that on UK google. Johnbod (talk) 23:12, 29 March 2010 (UTC)]

Work to do!
There are many new images in Commons from the Britain Loves Wikipedia photo expedition to British museums that need categorizing by editors with appropriate knowledge. I am working through textiles and costumes, but there are many images works of art which would be great additions to our visual arts and design articles if people could find them. - PKM (talk) 17:23, 29 May 2010 (UTC)
Thank you!
Thank you so much for your message and congrats yesterday! You really are the good fairy around here, cheering me up at the right moment. For I am currently somewhat at a loss at the Dudley's Daddy's GAN review (the prose problem!); although I must say it was fun with all the others I did (Guilford and Amy are also GA now). I found this Hilliard by chance (you may have heard of it of course) and I am absolutely delighted how real they look. The miniatures are tiny and from c. 1575 (the Kenilworth year). See the file description for the press details. User Editor at Large at Commons was so kind to remove the frames, so I could put it into Elizabeth's article. Good luck and good to have you here again! Buchraeumer (talk) 21:09, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
More fun with portraits
First, the Cobbe portrait of "Shakespeare" is probably Sir Thomas Overbury. Now a portrait long thought to be Overbury may well be Sir Robert Dudley, Leicester's son. Info here. - PKM (talk) 01:06, 6 June 2010 (UTC)
- Great! I never believed the Cobbe guy was Shakespeare! Robert Dudley junior would have been 17 in 1591; but he could very well be it (the eyes!, in high resolution). Thank you so much for finding this! Buchraeumer (talk) 23:29, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

Hi PKM, I need your help in obtaining a portrait of this lady here: Louisa Montagu, Countess of Sandwich. Thank you.--Jeanne Boleyn (talk) 11:58, 8 June 2010 (UTC)

- Thanks for looking. I know the Thomas Lawrence allegorical portrait is displayed at the La Salle University Art Museum.--Jeanne Boleyn (talk) 07:07, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
