Oh no! I only just discovered this, as I noticed his signature on the talk page for Orpheus and wondered why I hadn't come across his comments lately, worrying that he had quit Wikipedia. My sympathies to all those who were personally close to him. I've just heard this sad news. We got up each other's noses a little about the true identity of William Shakespeare, but that's all part of the rough and tumble of intellectual discourse. This is unfortunately posthumously conferred. Paul's contribution in bringing the William Shakespeare (estimated annual readership: 4,550,000) to Featured Article status was indispensable, and therefore I think it due, in order to express our deep appreciation for his seminal input in what has become a widely read article of the highest quality, that we register here his earned right to the Million Award, as a token of the influence his labour in the wiki fields will exercise on a global readership.
