Hi, I don't suppose you'd mind reviewing some of the other FLCs. There are currently a dozen that have been candidates for over a week and many of them have few to no comments. Thanks, Scorpion0422 01:41, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
Descent from Antiquity
You have complained that the introduction provides "insufficient context" and "could be more readable for non-genealogy people" and requested that it be improved to meet Wikipdedia's layout standards.
In all honesty, I don't see your problem. The introduction gives a definition in the first sentence that seems to me to be crystal clear. It then explains the history of the topic, which sets the context. Comparing it to [[1]] it seems to meet every check point.
Could you explain on [[2]] exactly what is the problem you see? Maybe dissecting some of the text would help.
Thanks. --Chris Bennett 14:39, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
Jewish military history
That sounds like a great name for an article, but, if it were ever created, I already foresee some horrible pov problems when the time line reaches the 20th century. Anyway, I would be happy to supply cited quotations from a couple of books that mention Jews fighting in ancient Chinese armies. --Ghostexorcist 04:34, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
I put it up for discussion here to resolve things. Interesting issues! P.S. Do you get the Bimmler reference? -- But|seriously|folks 03:03, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

You've placed a NPOV tag on Business Plot. Please do come to the article's talk page to discuss. Dlabtot 15:09, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
Please follow up and continue the discussion at Talk:Business Plot. Thank you. Dlabtot 20:42, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
Since you aren't discussing the issue, I'm gonna go ahead and remove the tag you placed. Please refrain from placing tags on articles unless you are willing to discuss the issue and reach consensus. Dlabtot 20:36, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
New York Meet-up
Won't be able to make it. I'm moving from Mamaroneck to Valhalla, but please keep me posted. Space Cadet 17:50, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
Meetup-On a chilly day?
Nov 3rd might be a bit chilly, an outdoors meetup in Prospect Park would be fine by me.--Woogie10w 18:07, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
NYC meeting
Ahh, wish I could go. I will be in Boston to see the Red Bulls play the Revolution in the MLS Playoffs so I can't make it. It sounds like it will be fun though. Happy editing. michfan2123 20:05, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
NYC Meetup
I might as well come, I can't decide between Philly 5 and this one. Its up to my dad.Mitch32contribs 20:22, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
- My mom might not be too keen on me gong to this meetup. I'm going to see my grandmother at that time, but she probably thinks that Wikipedia is a brand of cereal or something. Talk Please Sign! Let's go Lightning! 22:59, 19 October 2007 (UTC)]
I haven't lived in NYC in 49 years. Great place to visit, but not for this meet-up. Please remove me from this list. Bellagio99 02:07, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
Argh! It just has to be on the Saturday I made plans. If it was any other Saturday in October or November, I'd go, but not that Saturday, unfortunately. Sigh, I'm going to miss out on all the Wiki stuff... Tajik24 04:58, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
- I appreciate the thought, but I've other things much closer to home that need doing, such as taking more pictures for my existing Wikipedia projects. Thanks anyway for the invite. I wonder if there's a group in New England. - Denimadept 22:37, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the Boston pointer! - Denimadept 03:32, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

NYC2600Hi there!
NYC2600 meetings are a completely public and eclectic event open to anyone interested, regardless of specialty, technical aptitude, political beliefs, or anything else. The size of the meetings vary. Some parts of our photo and/or video galleries are a serviceable gauge of our usual attendance. Basically, if you're familiar with the lobby in the Citigroup building, we often fill that space out, but not uncomfortably so. You'd be more than welcome to stop by, and perhaps talk about the NYC Wikiproject. You might also like to bring some flyers or something to hand out to those interested.
NYC2600 has the 2600 meetings as our only "official" event, so we can't really endorse or plan other events under the NYC2600 banner, but many of us are often open to new events outside the meetings to check out together. I'll be making a post to our site about the Wikimeetup as the date approaches. I did so for the last Wikimeetup in the park, and while I ended up not being able to attend, a friend of mine from the meetings did.
We're always happy to see new faces show up at our meetings, as well. I personally feel there'd probably be significant crossover between the local 2600 community and the local Wiki community. While of course I can't guarantee how much interest there'd be in that crowd, and of course I don't doubt there are also some regulars who are heavy duty Wiki-critics as well, I can promise there'll be at least some folks who'd like to listen to what you have to say and discuss things further.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. Rob T Firefly 15:53, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

King Taharqa
- Yep, that's the one. The dates of reign are the same. But that article already has an accompanying photo. How should I proceed? (And you're welcome.) Nightscream 17:03, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks for the clarification. How do I add them to that page? I uploaded them, but when I hit the Edit button on that page, I didn't see the info for those image. (I'm new to Commons.) Nightscream 03:29, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, I uploaded three of my pics of that figure. But how do you add that template to the page? When I clicked on Edit on the other two image's pages, there was nothing there. Sorry about the long filenames, though. I was just following the upload instruction on giving them descriptive names, and making sure I got credit for them. I was influenced also by the names David Shankbonegives his pics.

About NYC roads
- Bad wording, sorry. I meant that the articles should be reformatted into the form of 14th Street (Intro-Street description-History-Future-Culture-Attractions-Major intersections-See also-References-External links).Mitch32contribs 15:51, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
- I will. Look at my new article: Stillwell Avenue - it follows those standards.Mitch32contribs 02:09, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
Meeting MinutesHey Pharos, thanks again for organizing the meeting on Saturday--I mean that sincerely as I've "organized" on the political tip in the past and know how much work goes into any sort of event organizing for interest groups. It's hard work and you did a good job.
I think on the whole it was a decent first meeting that will allow us to move forward with some NYC-wiki activities. I have some notes (and of course a tape recording--not sure how well that worked yet but I'll try to review it) on the meeting and will add more detail to the minutes
here. I believe Mitchazenia was the other editor taking some notes so hopefully between the two of us we can briefly build on what CComMack started and reconstruct the key ideas from the meeting in a fashion that's easily understandable for folks who weren't there. From that maybe we can build some discussion on-wiki leading into the next meeting.--Bigtimepeace | talk | contribs 09:55, 5 November 2007 (UTC)]Next meeting
- I scheduled the room from 2 pm to 5 pm. It can comfortably seat up to about 30 people in its current configuration and, if need be, we can rearrange the place to seat up to 100. Even if we go past 5 pm, that shouldn't be a problem as there are not going to be any other events in that room on Sunday night. As for other things to do, you might check out the Columbia University visitor's guide. There are plenty of restaurants in the area, some particularly good ones on Amsterdam Avenue. If it is a clear night, we can go up onto the roof of Pupin and take a look through telescopes. It'll be a bit cold and there's about a 50% chance that it will be too cloudy to see anything, but that's always a fun event. Talk:Shaykh Abdul Hadi Palazzi
