Hi, Remember the dot! Thank you for merging the history in the article I started. Sorry for the error. Carpe diem! Carpe Wikipedia! Pmronchi (talk) 02:22, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
- You're welcome! Although I should tell you I'm sorry I did it a bit sloppily. This is the first history merge I've done and it didn't come through quite perfectly. —Remember the dot (talk) 02:25, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
Tyrant flycatcher and lists of genera
The non-alphabeticness (is that a word?) of the genus list is deliberate, it is what is known as taxonomic order. Taxanomic order reflects how closely related the various genera are to each other, for example

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Malacolog, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.malacolog.org.
It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

- I have deleted this article as an unambiguous copyright infringement, as the prose was almost verbatim copied from the source. While such copying for an informational listing may be considered explicitly released under a free license except for brief quotations "used to illustrate a point, establish context, or attribute a point of view or idea" in accordance with Wikipedia:Non-free content. If it can be written in your own words, as it can be in this case, then it must be rewritten from scratch. VernoWhitney (talk) 14:24, 14 March 2011 (UTC)]

A tag has been placed on
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 00:40, 14 March 2011 (UTC)

For your helping with articles about gastropods. --Snek01 (talk) 01:19, 17 March 2011 (UTC) |
Hello P. M. Ronchi, thank you for contributing gastropod related articles. Your articles about Berghia species are good, useful, welcomed and very appreciated (although I have copyedited and tweaked some of them a bit). For more effective cooperation I would like to share few things with you: Categories of gastropods by country of by geography is not appropriate per Wikipedia:WikiProject Gastropods/Categories. Also it is usually not good to duplicate wikilinks in the "See also" section that are mentioned in the article already (and also links that are references allready). ITIS is not very good source for gastropods and usually does not even to be mentioned in the article, but is is good for vernacular names. Feel free to get inspiration of changes I have made or in other articles or in the WikiProject Gastropods talk page for your further creations. Have a nice editing. --Snek01 (talk) 01:19, 17 March 2011 (UTC)

CCI case opened
Hello, Pmronchi. This message is being sent to inform you that there currently is a discussion at
CCI case opened: Apologize, comment and some questions
First of all, I want to apologize to the reviewers of my contributions for the extra work that you take over your shoulders, due to an involuntary misunderstanding from my part.
Well, it seems that I am learning the hard way a few things about copyright violations. Thanks to a note by User:Moonriddengirl, it now seems clear to me what my mistake was:
[...](Some contributors are under the mistaken belief that if the source is cited, exact duplication of text is not a copyright infringement. This is not the case. United States copyright law does permit limited use of copyrighted text under fair use, but makes very clear that "acknowledging the source of the copyrighted material does not substitute for obtaining permission.") [...]
I am certainly one of those editors. All of my errors were made under that wrong assumption that I was making contributions under fair use. I feel embarrassed.
In order to help you, I will restrain from contributing text until around mid or late-April (or more, if you tell me so), even for articles not present in the review listing that you are using, because I am not sure if any new contribution from me can alter that listing and complicate your work further. I will neither contribute with the addition of internal links or disambiguation pages for the same reason. If I am allowed to contribute without hindering your work, please let me know.
Thanks for your great work to make WP a great encyclopedia, and again, I apologize for the extra work.
P.M.Ronchi
- Some questions
- Can I assist your work in any way? (besides restraining my editions, I mean)
- After the revision case is closed, I would like to rewrite some of the text you find faulty. In order to be sure that I am not infringing the copyright policy, is there a forum where to ask or a a group of editors willing to help with doubts?
Pmronchi (talk) 19:01, 25 March 2011 (UTC)
- There's nothing preventing you from contributing further to Wikipedia, and there are plenty of ways to do so without writing large new articles or significantly expanding existing content. Some examples include CAT:BACK. User:SuggestBotaims to find articles in these categories that you may be interested in editing.
- Furthermore, you can help fill out the red links at (say) List of non-marine molluscs of Brazil with short stubs. The stubs need not be more than one line long (for instance Dizoniopsis herberti), and you can always come back and expand them later when you are more confident about contributing non-copied content. There are similar lists at Wikipedia:WikiProject Marine life and Wikipedia:WikiProject Gastropods.
- Can you recall any instances where you copied text verbatim from your sources, and what were these sources? (This will expedite the handling of your case.)
- There is no formal forum for this, but MRG, VernoWhitney and myself are happy to assist with this matter. . MER-C 03:05, 26 March 2011 (UTC)
