Hi and thanks for your edits to the tuberculosis page. TimVickers 18:43, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This relates to the text on the placement of footnotes which you helped to work out last month; you may wish to comment. Septentrionalis PMAnderson 16:08, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Btw, it's a good idea to create your user page; even "Hello, world", as long as it's not a tedlink. You msy lose some of the special protection supposedly given to newbies, but your opinion will get more respect. Septentrionalis PMAnderson 16:08, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for the work you're doing to make this article more readable. However, I think you're falling into a common trap, that of equating amount of substance with its common unit, the mole. Amount of substance is a much older concept in chemistry, older even than atomic theory! Twelve grams of hydrogen will always react with 96 grams of oxygen to form water, no matter what units you use to measure amount of substance. Similarly, the Avogadro constant has very little to do with amount of substance as such, it is a function of the system of units which you use. It's a little bit like saying that the distance between London and New York doesn't change if you measure it in miles or kilometres, although the figures ("numerical value") will be different. The reason we don't use plain numbers for amount of substance is exactly the same reason that you don't count the electrons running though your computer while you edit Wikipedia – you couldn't! It was also be wrong in the measurement sense, as you don't measure a "number of electrons" or a "number of molecules": you measure a different quantity which theory assures you is proportional. I don't want to discourage you from trying to improve the article, but there is much that you are adding which is irrelevant, for not to say downright wrong. Water condensation in lift-induced vortices

Hello Reuqr,

I am currently working on the Wingtip vortices article and there is a long part on water condensation that I am proposing to remove. It seems that you are the person who added this text, so I would much appreciate your input regarding this, on the article talk page.

Thank you for your attention, and all the best, Ariadacapo (talk) 19:05, 7 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on

section F10 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a file that is not an image, sound file or video clip (e.g. a Microsoft Word document or PDF
file) that has no encyclopedic use.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. template:val

I notice you using the sdot character in the units for the {{

SI article. This template translates most common units using the convention of "." for "⋅", and omitting the 'sup' markup for exponents. This makes for a fairly simple uniform "syntax" that can be easily typed. If the template does not support a reasonable compound unit, we just add it to the template. Of course this does not mean that inputting all the markup and Unicode characters is inappropriate, but it does make it simple to see whether someone has used say "·" instead of "⋅" (the latter being the preferred character). —Quondum 01:22, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply
