Strange time to archive LOL. Ishqiya is way too hardcore for me LOL. Sooo graphic... I was being sarcastic Shahid. I saw a clip on youtube which looked promising and it was no more extreme that that of a kiss in a family U rated movie!. Although I guess that kiss and a forced rape is seen as extreme in India.. I remember Pierce Brosnan complained about the sex restriction in his films. He says he could have quite happily filmed graphic scenes with his costars as Bond but then again if you are with the likes of Halle Berry, Famke Janssen, SOphie Marceau and that hot blonde Danish chick from Tomorrow Never Dies can't blame the man! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 14:58, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I will look at it. Do you think Famke Janssen is hot? Sometimes I think yes, other times I think not so much. She can look a bit sallow looking at times. No to mention the fact she would be practically my height in heels which is pretty scary! I've only ever met one woman taller than myself but she was in fair sized heels! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 15:21, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

LOL 1:17 looks like my own Port Talbot.♦ Dr. Blofeld 15:35, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

So do you think Janssen is hot or what?♦ Dr. Blofeld 16:10, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, Wow have you heard of Rachel Roy? Gorgeous. In fact I though she was a Bollywood actress when I first saw a picture of her! See hereDr. Blofeld 18:10, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Urgh, hideous. At least though her acting talents are world class and easily rival the likes of Streep, Dench, Mirren, MacLaine, and Blanchett LOL.♦ Dr. Blofeld 19:45, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Botoxed? That's full on plastic surgery. You can tell by the Jacko nose. Sad, as I think at one point she was likely a beautiful girl.♦ Dr. Blofeld 19:51, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Exactly! I suppose she could win an Academy Award for playing a Drag Queen... Sorry if I'm being mean. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 19:55, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Zinta article is now plagued with POV problems. If Sarvagnya was here he'd try to demote it back to B class.♦ Dr. Blofeld 11:27, 6 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

LOL Shahid I'm joking mate! What's up, you seem a little down?♦ Dr. Blofeld 12:55, 6 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Aye, not bad. Any Bollywood films you want developed to GA level?♦ Dr. Blofeld 14:14, 6 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Great job with starting Mayank Shekhar BTW!♦ Dr. Blofeld 14:19, 6 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Some of the very hottest women though I've noticed tend to be a mixture of Hawaiian and Chinese/southeast Asian. Like Tia Carrere, Stacy Kamano, Kelly Hu, Nicole Scherzinger etc, although I think Scherzinger is Part Hawaiian, part Filipino, part Russian and others. The most exotic seem to be half Hawaiian half Filipino. The Hawaiian/Oriental combination to me is like the Lamborghini of cars or something, very exotic LOL.♦ Dr. Blofeld 18:39, 6 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Just started Aahat (film), is that this one ?. Is Aahat – Ek Ajib Kahani the proper name?♦ Dr. Blofeld 19:35, 6 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I will look into her article tomorrow. I think I'll stub the missing Dharmendra films now though..♦ Dr. Blofeld 19:53, 6 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Shahid I'm currently learning http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNRwqO-OH0M I can play about 3/4 of it. Its from the genius album El duende flamenco de Paco de Lucía. Obviously's Paco's version is way better than this guy's but its pretty good. Have a listen. Its very difficult, the part from 1:48 exceptionally so as you have to tremolo pick with the finger and descending and walk up A 7 flat 9/E diminished chords and that with the thumb.♦ Dr. Blofeld 09:15, 8 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Oh I agree that player isn't genius, but Paco de Lucia is. Listen to this. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 10:27, 8 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you combine all of the sources it should be fine. Depends if Google + is self published or not and he wrote that biography. I'd say it should suffice if you combine it with the other sources. The problem might be proving extensive coverage in multiple reliable independent publications if anybody questions its notability..♦ Dr. Blofeld 11:02, 11 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks LOL. Althugh I must warn you that you may be blocked permanently for your roguish threats to assassinate the evil one! LOL. Perhaps you should look into starting articles on other Bollywood biographers and create a Category:Hindi film biographers.♦ Dr. Blofeld 13:10, 11 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Would be nice though to build up coverage Hindi film media like biographies and film history, A good idea would be to create a

Hindi film bibliography and list as many notable books on individual biographies and histories as you can find.♦ Dr. Blofeld 13:42, 11 September 2011 (UTC)[reply
]

If I begin with

User:Dr. Blofeld/Hindi film bibliography has you help me ransack google books and try to gradually build a comprehensive bibliography for Bollywood over the next couple of weeks? I think as a resource this would be very useful for Bollywood on wikipedia and would be good as a starter point for finding sources about certain actors? Entries can be quick drawn by simply adding the google book url into hereDr. Blofeld 14:04, 11 September 2011 (UTC)[reply
]

I've begun at

User:Dr. Blofeld/Hindi film bibliography. Ordered by topic I think is good, books specifically biographical or musical in different sections. May take a few weeks of gradual work but it would definitely be very valuable for Bollywood on wikipedia I think. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 14:26, 11 September 2011 (UTC)[reply
]

I've made a start at Bibliography of Hindi cinema. Please try to find more subjects, more biographies on different actors, maybe books on some of the notable playback singers/composers etc and either add them or make a list for me to find them. There must be more films with books on them so please have a scout for anything in google books to help build this resource. Like give me a big list of actors, films and directors which may have books about them or something and I'll do the compiling if you like or paste urls into the talk page or something, whatever it easiest for you. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 15:20, 11 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ever heard of the website Shaadi? I frequently see it on the yahoo ads. Ridiculous. I mean how many real Indian women are both stunning and look like Preity Zinta or som hot Bollywoo actress, are tall for a woman at 5'9" for 5'10" and have a top profession like a lawyer or doctor and are only 23. Its absurd. Very few women have all four requirements.♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:43, 15 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Its quite hilarious though that people would actually think they are real people and would have the chance of dating them! LOL super hot, rich, successful, young woman do not need dating websites to find men!! How many super hot Bollywood looking women who are 5 ft 10, doctors or lawyers and still only 22 or 23 do you know of? If the women were that stunning they'd be top models or actresses or something. Of course there are attractive female doctors and lawyers but super hot and a leggy 5 ft 10 Indian girl too, chances are extremely slim. It would be like suggesting every girl in India looks like Shilpa Shetty LOL ♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:22, 15 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Genius. Beautifully made isn't it? ♦ Dr. Blofeld 10:45, 18 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Glad you enjoyed it. I love the fact they look like Spanish baroque guitars you'd find on a galleon shipwreck or something, only modernized. To my knowledge in quality they are to guitars as Stradivarius is to Violins! They are far better than even Taylor Guitars. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 11:26, 18 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

OMG have you seen the trailer for J. Edgar? Its looks a brilliant film and I mean Oscar type material. But if you think a film starring Leo Di Caprio, Naomi Watts and Dame Judi Dench and directed by Clint Eastwood... ♦ Dr. Blofeld 11:43, 20 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nope, but I know Amitabh Bachchan is making his Hollywood debut alongside Leo di Caprio.♦ Dr. Blofeld 12:26, 20 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

LOL I had a dream about SRK last night. He was some sort of guru in northern India in the Himalayas and he was teaching me all sorts of meditation techniques and that!! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 16:18, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nope, not seen it. I think my dream had to do with the fact I was watching George Harrison and playing guitar along with My Sweet Lord and some Beatles songs on the weekend... How SRK came to be the guru though in white PJs, no idea LOL.

Is Teri Meri notable in its own right? Merge?♦ Dr. Blofeld 15:53, 30 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

OMG look how hot!!. Federica Moro, Miss Italy 1982, Looks like an Italian Shania doesn't she?♦ Dr. Blofeld

Yeah, not as hot or cute as SHania obviously LOL but the likeness is uncanny, I had to do a double take! Even old pictures like this look just lie Shania did back in the 80s! With her hair tied back she probably looks even more like Shania! They look almost identical. She has the same face shape and ears LOL! Maybe Moro's jaw though is a little more masculine than Shania's. LOL cover every song of every Hindi film in history would be the ideal of course!♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:13, 30 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A truly comprehensive wikipedia would have articles on every song which ever appeared in a Hindi film complete with an audio sample and screenshot during the film LOL. Probably close to 1 million potential articles there!♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:25, 30 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

OMG how HOT is she??♦ Dr. Blofeld 11:19, 4 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

LOL she's Swedish! Brazilian parents though... Voted Sweden's sexiest woman in 2008, I mean that would take some doing, 75% of the chicks in Sweden are fit!! Good God I can only think of all of the thousands of blond Swedes lusting after this Latin beauty!! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 11:25, 4 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

LOL Brazilian women seem to like blonde men and vice versa! I remember we once had a Brazilian exchange student in the sixth form named Paoula and she said I have beautiful blue eyes, so clear LOL!!

Hey I started Talaq (film) and Rakhi (1962 film). Can you add references for the Filmfare claims?.♦ Dr. Blofeld 11:59, 4 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

PC honors

Shahid. Why did you just remove all of those honors from the Priyanka awards page? Do you think they could go somewhere else, like in an "in the media" section on her main page? If so, you could discuss it in the talk page, or just move it yourslef, rather than simply cutting all of that sourced material, no? BollyJeff || talk 22:38, 16 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The other actresses that I checked: Aish, Rani, Priety, Kareena, all had numerous of these types of polls etc. on their articles, and not all first places either, so I don't think we can exclude Priyanka. They were on the main page though, not the awards page for the most part (Aish had a few). Interestingly, Genelia D'Souza had no awards at all unless I am missing it somehow. BollyJeff || talk 02:34, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Be careful with the reverts Shahid here you removed valid BBC and Times of India sources and revert the correct link to Saathiya (film) back to Saathiya. Please fix this.♦ Dr. Blofeld 14:15, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Making her acting debut with

Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award for her performance in the film. RE: Dispute tag

Hi Shahid. You are right. Please report the user to an admin, preferrably MikeLynch. Also, you could remove the tag from "Critical reponse" section. I'm keeping my edits minimal, and after the peaceful resolution of these box office and critical reaction disputes in which I was previously involved, I will quit editing stuff related to Indian cinema. Thanks and all the best. Scieberking (talk) 15:41, 27 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

And BTW, she's probably Ms. Meryam, and not Mrs. Meryam, LOL. Wondering what would be her response after seeing "it was Mrs. Meryam who did it". Scieberking (talk) 15:53, 27 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Shahid. How you doing? You may be right, but generally, there are three types of verdicts; positive (favorable, hailed), negative (unfavorable; panned) and average (mixed; lukewarm). As far as I'm concerned, Ra.One, an all-in-all Hindi movie, goes with mixed. Rotten Tomatoes primarily contains western reviews so I think the site's not very relevant at all (in the same manner as southern reviewers are irrelevant for Ra.One; sites like Behindwoods and others have panned Ra.One). You need to participate in the discussion on the dispute resolution noticeboard and reach a consensus if you want to re-insert "mixed to positive". Right now, everybody is acting against the consensus. For instance, even Eros official has clarified that media-generated first day revenue of 22 crore was false, and 15.5 is the actual figure. There was wide consensus on talk page to use BOI figures only, but new users keep adding the figures of their choice. Also, for the record, Enthiran, not Ra.One, is most expensive Indian film ever produced. Simple solution, at least for me, is to ignore everything. Regards, Scieberking (talk) 15:12, 28 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Bette Davis

How does a previously massive movie star taking one off appearances on TV shows not show that she was getting desperate? I'd say that is a pretty significant change in the direction of her career. And the article is there to provide a summary of her career, so of course we should show that if it was the case. Besides it is only one little sentence, it's not like it completely clogs up the page. If it was something that happened in her career, it should be mentioned. --

talk) 14:19, 28 October 2011 (UTC)[reply
]

I am allowing the readers to draw their own conclusions and this is something that needs to be included for them to do that as accurately as possible. It was a significant step to enter into television, which I'm almost certain would have been viewed by contemporaries as a step down. And I really can't understand why you feel the need to remove such a small sentence - the page is of a sensible length, it doesn't need trimming, the sentence is relevant to Davis and her career...what's the problem? --

I tried but, I don't think it turned out right. I listed 142.157.116.40, 142.157.116.49, 142.157.116.30, and 142.157.116.112. Then User:HelloAnnyong quickly closed the case, saying that he blocked 142.157.116.0/25 for two weeks. Well, that range does not cover the IPs that I listed. What's up with that? And what is the proper way to submit one of these cases, because another editor said I did it wrong? BollyJeff || talk 12:14, 1 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Aw thanks, that means a lot. I do really want it to be a top-notch article so that's great to hear such positive feedback. It's a GA nominee right now, and I dunno - I confess I have started to like the idea of getting it up to FA. I've been looking at the reviews there though and it's a scary place! Do you think it has the potential? --

talk) 23:08, 7 November 2011 (UTC)[reply
]

Wow, thank you. I know the page is good but when the FA process is so tough I still have feel sometimes like they'd find a million things wrong with it, heh. But you've given me confidence and I think I will go for it eventually. I'd really love it to be TFA on her 105th birthday next year, that's my wikidream. No rush though - after the GA I'll give it some time and do lots of copyediting and yeah, put it through a PR. If you have any suggestions on the page btw i'd love to hear them, and let me know any sentences that read a bit clumsily. --
talk) 10:27, 8 November 2011 (UTC)[reply
]
Hi again. About that sentence, I thought it was acceptable because it is referenced, but I guess how it's written right now is inappropriate (POV). I still get confused about what is allowed so long as you reference it, and what isn't. I'll reword it, thanks for the heads-up. Please feel comfortable making any changes yourself, by the way.
The GAN is taking ages but I suspected it would. It's a very long article, that's probably what's putting people off the most. I still want to go through with it because it presents an opportunity to have someone completely new read through the article and (hopefully) make suggestions. And believe it or not (haha) there are still things I want to add from books I've recently bought (the PR said I should make the use of sources as broad as possible). Also I know you think it's well written but I still don't feel confident it's quite FA standards yet (sections of it at least). And it would really suck to take it there and get lots of negative comments after I've put so much work in, so I definitely don't want to rush the process and only do it when I'm confident. Thanks for your interest! Are you a Kate fan then? :) If so, then you obviously rule. --
talk) 23:53, 26 November 2011 (UTC)[reply

Oh I'm glad to hear you say its neutral, I've worried a bit about that. At first I found it hard not to let fandom creep through. The main section that's annoying me right now is that 1970s one, I tried to do some work on it last night but I just looked over it and I still feel like it's really sloppy...gah. If you think you can reword anything better there, please please do!
I absolutely love Bette Davis as well, she was such a character. I'm only just getting into Joan Crawford actually, before recently I'd only seen her in Mildred Pierce and Baby Jane. She was clearly a complete diva bitch but that's part of what makes her fascinating haha. Bringing Up Baby is one of my favourite films EVER. It was the first film I saw with Kate in and I fell in love with her instantly. :) --

I did some more work on the section this afternoon, after making that comment to you, and I'm happier with it now. But yes, by all means pick away at it! --]

Hence, I cordially invite you to come and join My Scrapbook, a personal effort to keep all Wikipedians together and to promote WikiLove. I hope this invite receives you in hearty health, and that you can take as much pleasure writing on my scrapbook as I take when I remember you. Wishing an undying friendship, and a continued collaboration with you in Wikipedia. Cheerio!

This invite is being sent to all those editors who have worked with me previously, and in the process have become great friends. Wishing everyone a great life and lots of WikiLove!

I'd rather not go back and forth with edits and edit summaries. I like your addition of facts (number of films and decades), but do we really need the phrase "seen as a cultural icon"? Isn't the sentence okay without it, and isn't it more of an editorial gloss than supportable by the sources? If you want to leave it in, fine, but I thought I'd mention it.--Bbb23 (talk) 18:29, 27 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Consensus

Hello. Please visit this section of the Ra.One talk page, and provide a consensus so as to decide the future of my proposition. I will be glad if you also mention some comments regarding how to approach this (undoubtedly) longer and more detailed review. Thank you. Re: Hey

I've edited Indian/Pakistani singer/actor articles in the past so it's understandable if my name is familiar. --Geniac (talk) 02:00, 5 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Correction on Khamoshi: The Musical page

Shahid, is there any reason you removed the edit about the song from Khamoshi being plagiarized. You can check the English version of the song on YouTube. What would be the correct way to incorporate this into the article? Best. Panacea 11 (talk) 20:17, 6 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Help with FF awards

I made a change to Filmfare Award for Best Actress, but it is also affecting Filmfare Awards, Madhumati, Vyjayanthimala and who knows what else. Since you are usually up on these, I want to make sure it is correct. According to the source Filmfare Nominees and Winners, it clearly states that Vyjayanthimala won best actress for Madhumati. Is this not correct, and if not wouldn't we need a better source? This source is usually good. BollyJeff || talk 20:39, 6 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Okay. It's pretty irritating when the official source gets it wrong. Looks like they have the years off by one too, though. I think we should add some of those sources to Filmfare Award for Best Actress to keep this from happening again. Thanks for doing the research. BollyJeff || talk 03:36, 7 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
DDLJ will be my next submission for GA. I hope it's getting close, cause I am running out of material. BollyJeff || talk 20:03, 7 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hola

Have you ever seen Bigg Boss? LOL how did a girl that beautiful end up doing porn. Sunny Leone is WAY too beautiful to be a porn star. She's too good to make out with those sleazy tattoed porno guys and gals. I read somewhere she's every Indian guy's fantasy. Not hard to believe... ♦ Dr. Blofeld 16:11, 8 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nope, LOL we hear nothing of even the biggest blockbusters over here. Although Aishwarya Rai and Shipa Shetty are the only Bollywood persons who ever gets mainstream coverage and even that is sparse. Leone though is said to have appeared in Bollywood films, she looks like a Bollywood actress. She looks too wholesome and clean to be a dirty porno slut!♦ Dr. Blofeld 19:16, 8 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hehe see Mafia (film).♦ Dr. Blofeld 19:25, 8 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

LOL. excellent job! I can GA review it if you want.♦ Dr. Blofeld 19:32, 8 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Shshshshmeister, why didn't you say about Dev Anand. Started Vidya (film) and uploaded these. We can now upload images of any films pre 1951!!♦ Dr. Blofeld 12:59, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Will try to get more of the missing ones started today. Good news is that in 60 years time all the images from Bollywood movies up until 2010 will be public domain and we can have freedom of image uploads from all Bollywood films!! Only thing is you and I will be over 85 by then on the way to 90! Good news is that in 6 years time we will be able to upload as many screenshots from Mother India as we wish.♦ Dr. Blofeld 13:49, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This also means we can upload the whole films or clips of songs and feature them in the film articles. We need to find somebody who can upload them.♦ Dr. Blofeld 14:07, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think I'll still pop in from time to time but I am certain I won't be as active!!♦ Dr. Blofeld 14:30, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

What do you think of this? It might not be your cup of tea but its the soul of it you have to get.♦ Dr. Blofeld 15:23, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've bought a DVD from this guy so I can learn to play 200 jazz songs like this. Don't you think it sounds cool? Clint Eastwood is a huge jazz fan too so it must be!! I just love the soul of jazz and blues, its like me in my element, it makes me about as happy as I can be! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 15:31, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, she's a good actress, not as good as Bette Davis though obviously! Well, jazz is a little abstract at times, not straight melodies, has a lot of altered notes and that, some people don't like it.♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:37, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is amazing.♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:39, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Will listen to it in a mo, can't get more beautiful than this though.♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:48, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

What's your favourite movie soundtrack of all time though? My favourite is easily this. Another Morricone, best composer of the 20th century in my opinion.♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:57, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

OMG, she's incredibke, very husky sexy voice, I think she's actually one of the best jazz vocalists I've ever heard. The nearest to her voice is my own native Shirley Bassey!! She could have been one of the jazz singer greats like Ella Fitzgerald!♦ Dr. Blofeld 18:01, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Haven't seen it for a while. SPeaking of Jolie's family, how creepy and androgenous does her brother look. Its like he's not meant to be male LOL. He just looks bizarre.♦ Dr. Blofeld 19:14, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Very strong genes I think which accounts for why they look so similar. I look nothing like my sister! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 21:15, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

See this. I don't even find her sexy do you? She's attractive and almost always very stylish but so not hot.♦ Dr. Blofeld 21:26, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

My personal opinion is that Salma Hayek is the sexiest woman in Hollywood how hot is she. Her Senorita Mexican accent makes her even sexier.♦ Dr. Blofeld 13:10, 11 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Do you not like Salma Hayek?♦ Dr. Blofeld 09:08, 14 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well, some might consider it gossip. I'm OK with it.♦ Dr. Blofeld 11:02, 18 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Urdu in Bollywood/Indian articles

Hey Shahid,

Anupam keeps trying to keep Urdu script in all these Bollywood articles when it's completely unncessesary. I saw that you had a discussion about this here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Administrators%27_noticeboard/3RRArchive124#User:Anupam_reported_by_User:Shshshsh_.28Result:_Both_warned.29 .

Is there a way I could add my vote to support removing and blocking Urdu script from being used in Indian articles? My argument is simple, read: hindi and english are official languages: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Official_languages_of_India#Official_languages_of_the_Union .

Thanks for your time man, Demetriusss (talk) 06:46, 19 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please sir, the ZNMD article is listed for a GA review right now and starting disputes isn't the wisest thing to do.

Opinion

Would you mind weighing in your opinion here Commander (Ping me) 16:36, 20 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The new layout of Bollywood Hungama has really messed up ALL of the links from the site. The movie reviews can be changed with the new links, though sources for other things are no longer available. We will have to use the archived versions now. -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 02:11, 21 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
