Hiya S. I hope you are well! I watched Threads last night. It is outstanding, well made, scary and gut wrenching all at the same time. You are right that it is more effective than The Day After in making us aware how devasting a nuclear war would be. After watching it I searched the internet for info about the film. One interesting thing is that it was made after research into nuclear winter had been published (The Day After had been made before that study) so they incorporated the new info into the film. The director - Mick Jackson - got his start working on documentary series like The Ascent of Man and he really learns all he can about a subject before starting his films. His Life Story (available here) helped me to understand the structure of DNA better than any professors I had back in college did. Temple Grandin (available on HBO Max and Hulu) helped me learn about how people with autism deal with the world. Hello S. I still check in occasionally so it might be a few days before I see your ping. I hope you are well. Things have been okay here for the most part but we are due to get two snow storms in the next 10 days and I am not looking forward to that at all. I finished season three of Lost in Space (2018 TV series). I liked it more than I did the first two seasons and I thought they did a good job of wrapping up the storylines. That's okay. But here's a catch: the Rooster Teeth website was totally free and easy to sign up. the FIRST is a subscription service and so was Tubi TV. You don't need a lot of money to watch. Hello S. I still pop in here occasionally. I've been through some ups and downs but things are okay now. We will see how long that lasts :-) I'm glad you pinged me because I had been meaning to let you know that I'm watching Jetman. It is a lot of fun and even though I don't speak Japanese I like to sing along with the opening credits :-) When I was young this is the kind of series that I used to watch each afternoon when I got home from school. I like that some episodes have a deeper message about things like getting along and allowing for differences in others. I'll be watching episode 20 later today. As I did the math I realized that all the kids in it would be in their 50s now. I wonder if they have fond memories of making the show. Have a great weekend. I watched eps 23 and 24 together S and I can see why you like them so much. The peril for Earth is so much greater than in previous episodes. The characters from the alternate dimension were well done and their demise was tragic. It was nice that Ako finally had someone care for her.
