Heads up
This is just a heads up that, unfortunately, your edits are introducing as many problems as they are solving. A lot of your edits are changing ref names, image file names, and wikilink syntax; if such items are changed by even one character, this can result in broken links or useless references. We have seen similar results when editors have tried to use grammar software such as Grammarly to make edits. Such software is generally inappropriate for use on the encyclopedia – or at best it requires careful checking before such edits are saved. Thanks for understanding. Hi TheMetalPedia! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Crow Indian Reservation that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. - Sumanuil (talk) 20:53, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
American English
Hello. In a recent edit, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.
For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use
In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk. Thank you. Pieceofmetalwork (talk) 11:50, 23 June 2021 (UTC)
- The same problem arose in your edit to Hollycombe Steam Collection. Please do not change British English spellings to US English ones, especially in article explicitly tagged as using British English. Thanks, Laplorfill (talk) 16:57, 23 June 2021 (UTC)
ANI discussion
There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. Pieceofmetalwork (talk) 11:59, 23 June 2021 (UTC)
- This edit is incorrect - you changed "a" to "an" in a book title, but the title of the book is indeed "Homenaje a Oscar Masotta". Please be be more careful in your editing. Thanks, Laplorfill (talk) 15:58, 24 June 2021 (UTC)
Linking
Hi — I've just gone through your newly created article Phenomy, making changes to several wikilinks, and thought I'd point out a few things:
- Please don't use external links to existing WP articles, like you did in the infobox.
- Don't link to the same article more than once (unless there's a particularly compelling reason, but that should be the exception rather than the rule).
- Don't link terms that are unlikely to need clarification or expansion by the reader; eg. in this case you can link to Metallica, because someone might want to know what sort of band that is, but there's no point in linking to Europe, because it's highly unlikely that someone reading this article sees the word 'Europe' and wonders what that might mean.
- Don't 'pipe' links unnecessarily; eg. you had made a link with [[lineup|line-up]] — just accept the first rendering of the term, even if you may prefer to write it with a hyphen.
- Speaking of lineup, that link pointed to a disambiguation page, which isn't a good idea, because a link should point to something meaningful, and a dab page is just a list of articles that a particular term might refer to. So please ensure that the links you add point to actual pages, and more to the point, to those actual pages that you had in mind.
Hope this helps, --DoubleGrazing (talk) 07:45, 27 June 2021 (UTC)
Bolding
Hi again — in the same article, I've also removed quite a lot of bolding from the section headings (a complete no-no) and body text (only acceptable in very specific circumstances - see
