Getting unblocked
Actually, the reason I blocked you didn't have to do with image related copyright violations, it was text related- for example, your article The Hundred Brothers had its plot summary and style sections copied from this Guardian source. Another example is your creation of Elect Mr. Robinson for a Better World- the plot summary was copied from Publisher's Weekly. If you to be unblocked, you should address the text side of things more in depth, and commit to not copying from sources. Books don't need plot summaries, you don't need to copy one form a source to fill it in. If you haven't read the book, and you're not sure what to write for the plot summary without copying from another source, than just don't include a plot summary. I see. I was not trying to deflect, I actually was confused here—I saw the notices that those articles had been flagged when I logged back in after a six month hiatus (I tend to be a seasonal/winter) contributor but misunderstood/thought the issue had to with images on those pages. I appreciate that I need to improve my involvement/awareness/literacy when it comes to talk page discussions and administrative layers of discourse vs. simply editing/adding citations. I also appreciate yr critique relating to (what I assume must have been) thin and/or unnecessary paraphrases from secondary sources. That was sloppy of me. What, at this point, can I do to redeem these errors of judgment (if anything)? ThomasMikael (talk) 12:27, 14 October 2021 (UTC)
- Sorry, I didn't mean to imply you were deflecting; I could have been more specific in my original block notice. I honestly think your reply here demonstrates enough of an understanding of what was done wrong (a lot more than most blocked for this), so I will unblock you now- please be careful in future.
