Thanks for your reply. I know of that feed, but don't use it, myself. Surely there must be some project page about it, that discusses what kind of edits are appropriate for brand new pages? For example, I wouldn't slap a {{More citations needed}} template within two minutes of some new article appearing; I'd give them some time to work on it, first. Same thing should apply here, as a missing hash on a redirect page may be a sign that the editor is about to link the redirect through Wikidata. Is there some Help or info page about the new pages feed somewhere that you know about? If it doesn't mention this already, it should; perhaps I'll add it.
