Geraniums
Hi Wouter - you've put some nice photos on the Cranesbill page. Can you say what species they are? To me they look more like Pelargoniums than Cranesbills and I wonder if you could have been led astray by the confusion of common name and genus with geranium? seglea 05:04, 29 Apr 2004 (UTC)

Statue in Rethymno
Sorry it has taken so long for a reply, but I've been searching around and asking, and unfortunately I have not been able to find any information about the statue. I'll keep looking however. El Greco(talk) 21:14, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

Hi Wouterhagens, thank you for adding the picture of Ronald J. Ross to my article. This article's purpose is still hampered by a disclaimer that it was "written by someone close to the subject". I would like this removed. First of all, I am neither related or paid by the subject, he was someone I was acquainted with nearly 30 years ago, and the article itself is a rather dry and objective commentary focused on the subject's provable accomplishments. How can I get this disclaimer removed from the article? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Raffyross (talk • contribs) 15:46, 8 March 2017 (UTC)

Question
Why would you add a photo to the article if you weren't sure of who the person in the photo was? DS (talk) 18:35, 26 December 2020 (UTC)
- Photos that have no category in Wikimedia Commons are usually untraceable by third parties and are lost for further use. When there is an article on a Wikipedia where such a photo can possibly be used, I try to check through the references whether it is the right person. In this case, the official website no longer exists and is for sale. I do not use Twitter and Facebook. When I post the photo without "PLEASE check .." chances are that others will accept it as correct and use it that way. Those who contributed to the article will find it easier than me to see if the photo is the right person or not and adjust the accompanying text. Often they are happy that a photo is added to the article. I hope that this answers you question. Wouterhagens (talk) 19:23, 26 December 2020 (UTC)
- Have you checked on archive.org? DS (talk) 00:03, 28 December 2020 (UTC)
- No. When you can figure it out, go ahead. As I said, it is often very easy for those who wrote the text of the article to tell if the photo represents the right person. I put a page like this on my watchlist until it is clear about the photo. If it is correct I can change the category of the photo and add it on the wikidata page. I'd also like to ask you to stop adding images in situations like this. The image you added to Jesse Walters, which is clearly not of Jesse Walters, remained in the article for five and a half years five months. Your expectation that others will clean up after you might hold on some prominent articles, but is not reasonable in the context of more obscure topics. – Arms & Hearts (talk) 12:46, 31 December 2020 (UTC)

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Chah Bardi, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article until the discussion has finished.
Since you added an image to the article of the putative village, the information in the image will need to be double-checked. Based on geocoordinateds of this putative settlement, we think the actual name of the village shown is probably Sar Peri. –LaundryPizza03 (dc̄) 00:40, 6 August 2022 (UTC)
