Barney Bentall

Hi, I was wondering about one of your edits to the BB article; I'm not sure that it's true about his 'birth' name; for a long time he's tried to hide his connection to his famous family, and the one place where I read the thing about his birth name being Franklin, the article had a bunch of other made-up stuff about him. Where did you get the info? Anchoress 20:08, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I took the info from that same article so it's possible either it was one of his aliases and/or it's all bunk. Feel free to remove it until a more proven source can be obtained. Z00ropean 20:24, 30 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Oops, sorry I missed your response to me until now, but someone just fixed it. Cheers and Happy New Year. The BB&tLH article looks great, BTW. Anchoress 05:50, 10 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

re: Hold On/on to the Nights

Hey there. I moved the page because I thought "on" was capitalized only if it was the final word in the title (i.e. "Hold On"). My apologies if I got this wrong... an admin can easily move it back if that's the case. Maybe we can doublecheck this with someone? - eo 12:24, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Citation needed

A citation is needed for the information you added to the List of backmasked messages. If you have one, you can find the information at Talk:List of backmasked messages, and add it back into the list with the citation. Thanks, Λυδαcιτγ 18:19, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Excellent — most people just give up on the information when asked for a citation. Thanks for taking the time to find one. Λυδαcιτγ 02:28, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No problemo, at least you made it clear what was required. Z00ropean 02:41, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Belinda Carlisle

Thank you, i really apprieciate nice comments:). It took me a while to expand them. Yeah i agree with you about her discography page, I couldn't really find a table that matched so i had to go with that one, but i will try and make the table widths bigger. Lillygirl 02:20, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi and I was thinking about that too but I only have the UK/Australian version of the CD, it might be a bit messy in the Personnel section if we name the song title so maybe it should be noted that it's referring to the UK version?. Lillygirl 10:39, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds like a good compromise to me. Z00ropean 22:22, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Circle in the Sand is a great article :). I added the chart positions but on the Billboard website it says it charted at #9 but i know it charted at #7. Lillygirl 23:12, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Great - thanks for the help! Z00ropean 04:09, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

U2 deletions...

Good idea for Grace and When I look at the world. But, just do it carefully, when theses and other were nominated with Kite and Peace on Earth, the whole thing fell over. Try one at a time, or only do the really obscure ones. I will help you out. Merbabu 02:29, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

PS, i doubt speedy delete will work. Might have to go for afd, 'groan'. Merbabu 02:30, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, as I thought, someone has removed the speedy tag and suggested afd. My suggestion is just keep it to those four songs (which are completely pointless articles) and don't go for Kite, Peace On Earth or any of the singles. And if you can, do them separately (ie, don't make deletion of one dependent on the deletion of another).Merbabu 02:39, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, I didn't realize these had been nominated before. I just focused on those that had no details whatsoever. I'm working on the article for "New York" as I do think it has some worthwhile history and is more notable than the others which are just album tracks and weren't played live. Now I have to go research how to do the "afd" process..ah well. Z00ropean 02:47, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Good to see you are on the right track - yes, the case for keeping 'New York' is stronger than the others, although I still think it is a poor case, but you are doing the right thing by not including it with your other afd's. (ie, nominating New YOrk at the same time would kill the whole nomination). Then it's a problem of whether to nominate all the others at once, or one at a time. If you do it one at a time, people will defend it by saying "if you delete this, then you must nominate the rest - including the dozens of other non-notable U2 songs", if you do it all at once, people then it is all too much, and the whole thing falls over. afd is simple enough - i think. Try here. I'll keep an eye for it. Your going to find the biggest defence for keep will be

Alien Project

After I finished the first of the three steps for AfD, I realized AfD wasn't necessary for a redirect, so I was

bold and just did it. Since you want to open it up to debate, however, I have now completed the AfD nomination process. Precious Roy 01:03, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply

Hi, I'm aware of how to Move but this was a tough call because the original article contained info on two separate people (not ideal!) and thus needed to be split into two new articles (Leonard the musician and Leonard the producer), and then have a DAB page at the original page. It's clear now that copy/paste is not preferred. In the future, what is the best way to avoid all this when content needs splitting? I suspect there's a Wiki-guideline that I just haven't found yet. Thanks for your help with the repairs. Z00ropean (talk) 20:12, 6 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The dab page was definitely the right call - sorry for templating you when you were just trying to clear up someone else's mess. I would say the best procedure for future is to 'demerge' the most recent addition to a new article, with an edit summary noting the original location of the material. Then move the remaining article to a new title, if necessary. If the article has 2 separate stages (e.g topic 1 overwritten by topic 2) then this can be dealt with in a similar way to a histmerge, but AFAIK there is no template for this. I have come across a similar situation to this before and I couldn't find any guidelines myself! You would have to make a specific request at

The deletion of Mainstream Rock references

I am sorry for the inconvenience. I was not sure if the information was all that relevant, for I am the one that added that information myself. I wasn't sure, since the

Mainstream Rock Tracks chart is a less-publicized Billboard chart, and I wasn't sure if the positions were still necessarily needed, but I will be sure to add this information back if need be, and am also happy to add on to any other Mainstream Rock #1-related song articles. Thank you for letting me know, and, again, I am very sorry. --Putnam269 (talk) 22:13, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply
]

Hi, thanks for your reply. Just to let you know, I am also interested in adding the "Number-one Mainstream Rock single" boxes to the bottom of each Mainstream Rock single page. I have added some myself, and just raising awareness about this initiative. These are the boxes which display various information about the single, including the date it was at #1, which single preceded it at #1, which followed it at #1, etc. These boxes make it easier to navigate among Mainstream Rock singles, so if as many others can help with this as well, this goal would be achieved much quicker. I also find that many Mainstream Rock singles, especially the ones from the 1980s, do not have their own articles. If you or any others could also help with this, it would be much appreciated. Thanks. --Putnam269 (talk) 00:51, 16 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
