According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 56.5 square miles (146.4 km2), of which 56.1 square miles (145.2 km2) is land and 0.5 square miles (1.2 km2) (0.83%) is water.

There were 2,555 households, of which 37.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 68.3% were married couples living together, 6.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 22.0% were non-families. 17.4% of all households were made up of individuals, and 7.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
