People are presumed notable if they have received significant coverage in multiple published secondary sources that are reliable, intellectually independent of each other, and independent of the subject

Comment: My original nomination of this article was based on my interpretation of the criteria at
WP:NSINGER
. Reading the following - "Singers and musicians who are only notable for participating in a reality television series may be redirected to an article about the series, until they have demonstrated that they are independently notable." - it would be appropriate to redirect this article to the appropriate season of American Idol, which is what I probably should have done in the first place.

Keep. We have been eliminating the runners-up ("best of the rest") of American Idol, but primarily on the basis of
