Small dashes on results pages
I wanted to say thank you for fixing my mistake with the dashes on the "detailed results" section for a few of the skating pages. I've been trying to help convert a lot of pages to the new template format but I realized I've been using the wrong dash for the dates (short dash instead of the long dash) Legendofmv (talk) 15:52, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
- That is a very common mistake that I frequently make as well. Only recently did I realize that when editing in source mode, the en-dash is one of the characters along the bottom of the editing pane that you can copy/use! Bgsu98 (Talk) 15:59, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
- Ah, that's good to keep in mind, thank you! I usually draft a lot of edits (especially the template-heavy ones such as programs and results) in VS Code and then copy them into Wikipedia, but I'll definitely use that feature now! Converting to the new templates is definitely a tedious process but I kind of enjoy it. Legendofmv (talk) 16:08, 10 April 2025 (UTC)

Question
I'm following Template:Medals table editing medal information. It's not a revert reason and does not any problem. I don't understand why you always revert it?
- I have already tried to explain this but you either cannot understand or refuse to. Either way, see you at ANI. Bgsu98 (Talk) 11:38, 29 April 2025 (UTC)
Your GA nomination of Grand Prix de France (figure skating)
The article Grand Prix de France (figure skating) you nominated as a good article has failed ; see Talk:Grand Prix de France (figure skating) for reasons why the nomination failed. If or when these points have been taken care of, you may apply for a new nomination of the article. Message delivered by ChristieBot, on behalf of Arconning -- Arconning (talk) 14:43, 7 May 2025 (UTC)
- Arconning, thank you for your comments regarding Grand Prix de France (figure skating). I didn't realize GA and FL were mutually exclusive. Because GA articles can proceed to FA status, I figured the same applied to FL. I had intended to nominate this to FL, but the turnaround time is so unbelievably slow. My World Figure Skating Championships is approaching the two-month mark, and British Figure Skating Championships is at a month. The list of articles I have on standby for promotion is numerous, so I thought I'd send some of these lesser competitions to GA for feedback in the meantime. Bgsu98 (Talk) 15:05, 7 May 2025 (UTC)
- Arconning, also regarding this: "Licensing for the image of the trophy needs to be fixed." I uploaded this image, so if I did something improperly, please clarify what I need to do to fix it. I am not used to uploading images. Bgsu98 (Talk) 15:18, 7 May 2025 (UTC)
- @Bgsu98 The image would still require a non-free use rationale. :) Arconning (talk) 15:22, 7 May 2025 (UTC)
- Arconning, I don't see where this is missing? [1] Bgsu98 (Talk) 15:28, 7 May 2025 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) Not sure about the concept of actually going from GA > FL in the same method one would go from GA > FA, but there has been a movement at the FL project to remove pages that should have been sent to GA/FA instead of FL. Several season articles (more than I've linked here) have been delisted recently because despite containing a list of episodes, they are more traditionally classified as articles rather than lists. A more in-depth discussion occurred here I'd imagine a similar concept exists in reverse. TheDoctorWho (talk) 21:21, 8 May 2025 (UTC)
- It seems there's a two-tier hierarchy for articles, but not for lists. I'd be happy to send all of my figure skating pages to FL, but the backlog is ridiculous – my World Figure Skating Championships has hit the two-month mark today, despite the source review being done last week – whereas GA allows for as many submissions as I want. DYK nomination of Grand Prix of Finland
FL backlog
Hi, Bgsu. There are three of us who close FLs, so I'm sure someone will be around if they see lists that have a consensus one way or the other. When I looked earlier today, there were a couple lists I thought I was going to promote that had new reviews which were outstanding, so I held off on them. I also saw a lot of lists without image reviews, so if anyone watching this page wants to help us, that's one great way to do so. Both image and source reviews involve work that is integral to the process, but sometimes it's hard to find people to look at these things, and there's only so much the closers can do by ourselves. Giants2008 (Talk) 01:09, 12 May 2025 (UTC)
- Giants2008, thank you for taking the time to respond. I appreciate the work you and the other admins do on behalf of the FL project. Bgsu98 (Talk) 02:47, 12 May 2025 (UTC)
Hi, I saw you had to revert Pi bot twice with the Commons category, so I looked into it a bit more. It turned out that there were complications on Wikidata, since the Spanish Wikipedia had two categories for the topic. I've now merged them and the Wikidata category items, so Pi bot shouldn't try to change the Commons category again now. Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 17:24, 12 May 2025 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Skate America
Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've

- Figureskatingfan, we also have Grand Prix of Finland, which was already promoted to GA, and Grand Prix de France (figure skating), which is up for Featured List review right now. They are all part of the same series, so I don't want to deviate too much in terms of formatting between these. Thank you for taking the time to do the review! Bgsu98 (Talk) 17:47, 22 May 2025 (UTC)
- B, I just finished with the review. No, I thought that the structure was fine. As I state over there, you did a very nice job improving this article. I have a few issues that should be easily addressed and then it'll be an easy pass. Congrats! Christine (Figureskatingfan) (talk) 01:33, 23 May 2025 (UTC)

- Riley1012, that's wonderful, thank you so much! I just wanted to point out that I edited all of the GP events so they would follow similar formats. DYK for Grand Prix of Finland
On 7 June 2025, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Grand Prix of Finland, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the Grand Prix of Finland was held again in 2022 after Russia was banned from hosting international figure skating competitions? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Grand Prix of Finland. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Grand Prix of Finland), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Federation logos as substitutes for Figure Skating Championship logos
This is not permissible as per
If the championships themselves don't have its own logo, do not use the federation logo as a stand in. If a child entity has its own logo (the national championship in question) itself has its own logo distinct from the federation then its allowable.Hariboneagle927 (talk) 08:25, 29 June 2025 (UTC)

- I disagree with your interpretation of that policy. Bgsu98 (Talk) 14:03, 29 June 2025 (UTC)
- Why? The tournament is a child entity under the parent organization. The federation badge/logo is not a branding for the tournament itself. If there is no logo there is no need to force one for decor. Hariboneagle927 (talk) 14:08, 29 June 2025 (UTC)
- I don’t believe it is a “child entity”. Additionally, you have created an edit war by failing to follow the WP:BRD cycle: you were bold, I reverted, and your next action was… to revert again? Take it to the talk page, champ. These logos have proper fair-use criteria and several of the articles have undergone Featured List evaluations, which includes image reviews. You’re the only one finding a problem. Quit being a disruption and go find something productive to do. Bgsu98 (Talk) 14:16, 29 June 2025 (UTC)]
