This user page is a draft of an article that was deleted under two different titles as a non-notable operation. I believe it's fairly clearly an advertisement. I left a note for the user six days ago listing my concerns about it with respect to
WP:User page. When the user next edited (yesterday) his sole action was to add two spam links to the page. Should the page be deleted? —Largo Plazo (talk) 14:08, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

- Weak delete The user appears to be a translator -- though this page does not appear to be a simple translation of the sources' web pages. I do not know whether this is a sample of his work rather than an ad for the Quebec site at all. I think I would prefer to hang the delete on the article referring to "YDMN Inc." and calling it "commercial use" by that company rather than an ad which it may or may not actually be. - Delete. Looks wholly promotional. Plus, in the initial edit, the user claims to have a copyright, thereby somewhat violating WP:GFDL. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 00:21, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
- I think what he means to say is that some of the material is drawn from the Quebec Guitare FAQ (parts of the lead, for instance, are translated directly from the À propos paragraph) but that he holds the copyright to the original; that does, of course, present a concern, but I don't know that we need reach that issue (I, for one, feel comfortable not G12ing this, or even bothering to remove the text that is arguably problematic), at least if this doesn't trend toward "keep". - Thanks for pointing it out. It looks like, when the two incarnations of this article were deleted from mainspace, the user believed it was done over copyright problems, which of course speedy criteria A7 and G11 have nothing to do with. This kind of misunderstanding (saying I have a copyright instead of I am the copyright holder) is actually typical of Quebec people who are not that familiar with English. Still, criterion G11 could apply, and, if not, then this falls under point 6 of ]

- Blank and leave a note on the talk page pointing to the old version and instructions not to resurrect it unless the issues in the related AFDs are fixed. There is no harm leaving the edit history as long as it doesn't come back. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 19:55, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
