Tulips

There about 100 species of

perennial bulbous plants growing to 10-70 cm tall with large flowers with six tepals. Besides being the national flower of Iran and Turkey, tulips are closely associated with the Netherlands
, so much so that the term "Dutch tulips" is often used for the cultivated forms.
