Though the term "convolution" is used in various ways in formal language theory, it is not what is discussed in the article formerly known as

Production (formal languages), apparently to provide a unique parenthetical suffix "(formal languages)". However, I'm unable to reconstruct where I found, in 2014, "convolution" on a formal language page. • Comment. Convolution used to be in the article [1], bolded in the lead no less, and was actually the article title at that time. It was removed in this recent edit. SpinningSpark 18:49, 4 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I removed it because I could find no evidence in the literature of its being used to mean this. As I say, "convolution" has other meanings in formal language theory, but as far as I can tell, we don't have any articles on those other meanings. --Macrakis (talk) 19:25, 4 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
