Suspected sockpuppets


This is complicated.

  1. Atlantic Channel is created in late April but doesn't edit till May. Refer here. When they do contribute, it takes the form of highly dubious quality about Assamese movies, often involving copyvios.
  2. Atlantic Channel engages in minor edit wars. Then leaves suddenly on May 19th.
  3. Urdumaniac is created the next day and continues identical behavior, except they claim to be Pakistani instead of Assamese. See here. There's no hiding it; just compare this to this and it'll immediately be obvious. This goes on until they are told to stop sockpuppetry on their talk page. I'm convinced this is just lies about ethnicity.
  4. Panama the Canal is created as a sleeper account. See here.
  5. Nigerian Spiderman is created and then shortly blocked for Vandalism-only Account. This may seem like just another case of fooling around on Wikipedia, but look at this. Solid giveaway, highly reminiscent of the master's behavior, if not identical.
  6. Panama the Canal makes their first edit: another solid giveaway.

I think it's quite obvious that these are all the same person, and I also believe that they have plenty more accounts stuffed up their sleeve. Therefore, I'm requesting CU to sort this whole mess out. Goodbye! GW Luxembourg (talk) 15:19, 20 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Suspected sockpuppets

Recreation of previously deleted article Shyon Keoppel, avoiding a direct recreation check by misspelling name as Shyon keoppel. Content and sources, as far as I can remember, largely identical. Since Ziggy 2milli was very clearly a paid editor; nobody had shown interest in this person previously; and they likely still have to deliver the goods, this strikes me as likely sockpuppetry.   • The ducks are quacking so loudly that I am having to wear ear plugs. Also most if not all of the accounts have enough other reasons to be blocked, even without the sockpuppetry, such as promotional editing (in some cases openly admitting to using Wikipedia for SEO) and other disruptive editing, trying to get round restrictions on article creation by creating pseudo-articles in other namespaces, moving pages back and forth between article space and draft space to alternately evade deletion and attain SEO, etc etc.

    There was something I saw the other day (vague I know, but I could allude to it more over email).     Also, I'll be clear this is not a super-confirmation (though it is my opinion). What is clear is that these socks are related to Woshiyiweizhongguoren (if that's a preferred tag) and that this isn't Ziggy 2milli. I want to make this clear because I suspect Ziggy 2milli (or indeed Woshiyiweizhongguoren) may need to be referred to again without this stuff clouding the issue. -- zzuuzz (talk) 16:06, 5 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    OK, my final comment on this. Seahawks1718 (talk · contribs · block log) (see edits) is also confirmed to these socks. They've appeared in various SPIs, including Viviocon, Iuscaogdan, Anonymuss User, and even Wikinger.     My preference is regardless of QEDK's assessment, we move this case to Woshiyiweizhongguoren. I agree that this may be Incorrigible Troll, but I don't think it's conclusive enough to merge the two cases. The best evidence I've seen is Rhyhorn es mi homi because of the username, but we've also seen that whoever this person is they also impersonate other socks, so that may be another impersonation. I'm also not sure what you mean by "the network", and you clearly can't disclose that here, but if you have a moment, an e-mail would be nice.--Bbb23 (talk) 22:30, 5 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    Having now looked at some technical data on CU wiki and some even older technical data I have, I am more opposed to merging this with Incorrigible Troll. That's based on both location and UAs. @Zzuuzz: I wouldn't call this a joe-job. If this case were moved, as was requested, then all of these socks would be confirmed. Meanwhile, because the report in clerk status won't be closed until the case is moved, it keeps getting longer and longer, not helped by good-faith users filing multiple reports when just one report with multiple users would do and create less work for us.--Bbb23 (talk) 23:20, 19 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

SanjayKHANman has vandalized the archive of this page; he was shortly reverted and blocked, however. But I noticed that another user named Blujay26 has engaged in uncannily similar behavior, requesting the creation of and editing the same articles as other suspected and confirmed socks. Not only that, the two socks' user pages were identical, before SanjayKHANman's was deleted. All of this seems to strongly suggest that these two accounts are operated by the same person, but I do believe that a CheckUser check would be helpful in confirming this, as well as determining if there are any more accounts that I missed.
