Hello, I've been trying to tidy/improve the above article, but the last couple of edits seem to have been purely for advertising purposes, or at least in the style of advertising. What should I do about this? Ant (talk) 15:24, 31 October 2013 (UTC)

Revert them (which already has been done). MER-C 08:27, 4 November 2013 (UTC)
Thanks - I'll do that next time! Ant (talk) 17:04, 7 November 2013 (UTC)

MEDbase200 is a research firm, and I am simply disseminating the research as it pertains to nurse specialties. I would very much like to continue to contribute to Wikipedia--I have a physician research study that I think would fill out some sub-specialties that are now stubs. I do not, however, want to continue editing while being considered a spammer. How can I resolve this? Should I not cite the median income figures? Should I find a new source? Thank you Sjt003 (talk) 23:11, 31 October 2013 (UTC)sjt003

The change to the article on cardiac catheterization added information about nurses' salaries; it looks off-topic to me because the article is about a medical procedure. —rybec 00:23, 1 November 2013 (UTC)

I have started using the Bureau of Labor Statistics as a source on Nurse Economics--looks a lot more comprehensive. Should I delete my contribution to Cardiac Catheterization? I will delete the catheterization contribution. Thank you. Sjt003 (talk) 14:01, 1 November 2013 (UTC)sjt003

I am in the process of trying to find alternate sources for the nurse specialty annual incomes. Medbase200 has been doing this research sinces the '80s, and most companies that do this sort of medical research make you pay for the reports. I think that since this company is giving away pertinent information for free a good place to disseminate it would be on Wikipedia. The information is genuine, the company has been around since 1982 and the website has been with the current owner since 21-aug-2000. I understand how one could see this as spamming, but the information is pertinent and the company is giving away information related to these articles. Please advise as to whether I should delete my contributions and continue using the Bureau of Labor Statistics as a source. Many thanks.Sjt003 (talk) 14:33, 1 November 2013 (UTC)sjt003

I've found specific information on annual nurse salaries in many specialty areas from indeed.com. Is this a reputable source to use? Sjt003 (talk) 14:54, 1 November 2013 (UTC)sjt003

I have deleted all my contributions and references related to medbase200.com since they are in question. Please advise as to whether the study is a considered a valid source for reporting on nurse annual income by specific specialty. I have left my references to the Bureau of Labor Statistics intact. Thank you for your patience--I am new at editing articles.Sjt003 (talk) 15:18, 1 November 2013 (UTC)sjt003

I have put in a request for additional sources here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Resource_Exchange/Resource_Request#Nurse_Specialties_Median_Annual_Income Sjt003 (talk) 15:56, 1 November 2013 (UTC)sjt003

- User Bijubiju adds lot of links to makewebmap.com site. The site is self-published photo-collection, sorted by photo locations. In ruwiki user answers to "Откуда взяты эти снимки.." Fashion Net

Shousokutsuu is the creator of the template {{Fashion Net}}, which is a shell for external links to www.fashion.net and which the editor has added to some dozens of articles. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 00:17, 20 November 2013 (UTC)

The template facilitates linking to accurate and on-topic profiles on Fashion Net that comply with Wikipedia policies, such as http://www.fashion.net/designers/gaspard-yurkievich/; these links are not spam. Shousokutsuu (talk) 07:52, 24 November 2013 (UTC)

WP:LINKSTOAVOID, which reads "9. Any search results pages, such as links to individual website searches, search engines, search aggregators, or RSS feeds". These links are spam. Justlettersandnumbers (talk
) 19:36, 25 November 2013 (UTC)

Nothing on Fashion Net is aggregated -- all texts are exclusively written by Fashion Net. All text on Fashion Net's profiles is original content, with material supplied directly by the subjects, such as quotes and favorite links. Despite any definitions elsewhere (and Fashion Net's profile on Wikipedia certainly needs to be updated), Fashion Net -isn't- a search engine, it -has- a search engine and the pages linked to from Wikipedia aren't search results, they're hard coded pages that can be searched, just like those on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chanel isn't a search result, although searching for "chanel" on Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?search=chanel) will point directly to the hardcoded page at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chanel This, by nobody's definition of the term, makes Wikipedia a search engine, as I am sure you will agree. Fashion Net's search function may include external sites, but only sites listed on Fashion Net. Shousokutsuu (talk) 23:14, 25 November 2013 (UTC)

Well you certainly talk about it in a very authoritative manner. Are you perhaps in some way connected with the company? How else would you have all this first-hand knowledge? Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 23:58, 25 November 2013 (UTC)

The world of fashion is a small one and I'm very well connected. Most texts are written for fashion.net by Horacio Silva (recently at New York Times) and Johanna Lenander (Fab). Shousokutsuu (talk) 01:22, 26 November 2013 (UTC)

Agora Publishing spam on Wikipedia - 2

Previous report: Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Spam/2008 Archive Oct 2#Agora Publishing spam on Wikipedia

There are currently two, independent, whitelisting requests for sites blacklisted as a result of the above report, which made me look at the reason for blacklisting. Looking into the edits, it seems that the spamming did not stop (however, no link-spam has been observed (yet)):

SPA's with one edit

The other article that precipitated an, again legitimate, whitelisting request is Les Belles Lettres, also edited by many SPAs

There are other curious edits around, though more difficult to tie to Agora itself. I should note that there are some accounts with two edits, one to an Agora, Inc. related page and one to a totally unrelated page:

I've added a separate discussion below on kolkatafootball.com, as there is some recent spamming. --

talk
) 16:50, 30 November 2013 (UTC)

I would like to break up my response in 2 parts --
1. Where I place links and why they have not been removed by anyone before Ronz ?
2. Who is Ronz and why is he up to me and a few others like me ?
1. Where I place links and why they have not been removed by anyone before Ronz ?
As I mentioned in Ronz's talk page beforehand, I only place similar standard links for reference, where other links of same standard are already available. So, in all the articles, where Ronz found my links and deleted, similar standard links are there. Hence other editors never thought of removing them as they were related to the subject and explaining/supporting part of the subject matter. Ronz without understanding anything about the subject matter, or judging any other links placed in the article, blindly removed my links and complained to a very senior Wikipedia admin who, probably due to lack of time could not verify everything in detail, threatened me with a last warning to get banned. In this regard I would like to invite Ronz to show articles where I placed links and no other links of similar standard were present there. If he fails to do so, may I get to know, why he specifically targeted my links ? The answer may be in the second part.
2. Who is Ronz and why is he up to me and a few others like me ?
Back in November
Kolkata derby, he seems to be least interested in removing it, where the link is placed till date. Rather he removed my last post from his talk page !!! After this he was quiet for few days and I thought he is not interested in removing any other link and hence I posted about the unreliable sources to 2 admins.[6][7] To my surprise Ronz jumped in, created this Project SPAM against me and posted the links over there. This is the time I became suspicious and I started to dig about Ronz. I found that Ronz's neutrality is discussed here[8] in multiple topics. I always had a doubt whether National Report qualifies to have a Wikipedia article in the first place. Why Ronz have no word about the article's credibility, do not want links pointing to the actual owner of National Report and wants me to get banned ? Because, I feel Ronz serves his clients over wikipedia for PR[9] and do not allow anyone exposing his clients. This is why he is vindictive towards me. --UpalC (talk
