Review BAPS Lead Paragraph Edits

I have placed an edited lead paragraph for the BAPS article in my sandbox: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Apollo1203/sandbox. I invite you all to review and suggest any improvements ahead of editing the article. Thank you. Apollo1203 (talk) 05:35, 20 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed Merger of Swaminarayan Sampraday

There's a proposed merger being discussed between

here. Thank you. Moksha88 (talk) 03:10, 20 December 2019 (UTC)[reply

Thank you for doing this merge. However, it would have been beneficial to merge into the Swaminarayan Sampradaya page since "Swaminarayan (spiritual tradition)" is not a common phrase/term. I placed the merge request on the page, but it will be helpful for members of this project to put their comments regarding the page merge: move request
Additionally, after repetitiously reading and reviewing the merged article, I think it needs to be re-structured, organized, and re-written to avoid confusion and maintain validity. @Moksha88:, can you start working on an outline of a future state Swaminarayan Sampradaya article? You can create one in your sandbox and we can comment and iterate on it. This will help improve the article tremendously. Thank you! Apollo1203 (talk) 03:01, 14 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Vachanamrut Article Re-Write

After reviewing the current Vachanamrut article, I believe it needs significant improvements. Besides the tag that was placed in 2007, indicating the article is confusing and hard to understand, the article lacks reliable secondary sources. Additionally, it does not comprehensively describe the Vachanamrut. Therefore, I will begin researching and re-writing the article. I will update my sandbox with my revisions and edits. Apollo1203 (talk) 19:02, 26 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Apollo1203: I agree and look forward to your rewrite. When you get a chance, please comment on the merger thread about parts of the article that need to be removed. I posted several excerpts on my sandbox. Thank you. Moksha88 (talk) 04:18, 28 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I'll begin populating the content in the outline that is in my sandbox. Look forward to your input and edits. Apollo1203 (talk) 19:25, 1 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Apollo1203: I took a look at what you have so far and looks good though we may need to cut down on the number of quotes to keep the article concise. I fixed a few details and updated the page number for one of the sentences. I can start working on the Content section. Moksha88 (talk) 01:16, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Finally have some time on my hands - I would agree with the numerous quotes that should be removed - I'll take a detailed look at this soon. ThaNDNman224 (talk) 14:13, 6 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
ThaNDNman224, great. In addition to cleaning up the text, we also need a lead paragraph. Moksha88 (talk) 03:24, 7 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I've moved the Vachanamrut article from my sandbox to the live article. Thank you all for the help and collaboration on this article! Looking forward to working with you all on future article improvements. Apollo1203 (talk) 03:19, 13 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Status

Hi all, I noticed this WikiProject has been tagged as "inactive." However, I think activity has increased on this project by a select few users and could merit a status change to active. Does anyone have objection to changing the status to "active"? Apollo1203 (talk) 17:27, 2 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Apollo1203, between the recent merger of the Swaminarayan articles and the subsequent cleanup as well as the proposed rewrite of the Vachanamrut article, I feel there's sufficient activity to reactivate the project. Moksha88 (talk) 03:18, 3 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Renaming Templates

Apollo1203, with the recent merger of the Swaminarayan Sampraday article into the tradition article, do you know how to rename these templates? I fixed the text in the templates last week, immediately after the merger, but I think we may need to set up the same request like we did for changing the page title.

  1. Swaminarayan Hinduism->Swaminarayan Sampraday
  2. Swaminarayan Sampraday->Nar Narayan Dev Gadi & Laxmi Narayan Dev Gadi

Moksha88 (talk) 00:59, 7 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I will look into this Apollo1203 (talk) 15:48, 7 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
ThaNDNman224, can you please comment on the proposed template changes? Thank you. Moksha88 (talk) 05:33, 10 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Swaminarayan Sampradaya Article Copy Edit

Hi all - I noticed that the after the merge of the Swaminarayan (Spiritual Tradition) and Swaminarayan Sampradaya article, the article could use significant amount of clean-up. I think the content doesn't flow or give an outside reader a decent understanding of what the Swaminarayan Sampradaya is. Additionally, there are two tags on the article that need to be addressed. I invite you all to contribute and help with this effort. Look forward to working with you all. Thank you! Apollo1203 (talk) 17:47, 17 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello all, I’ve spent the past few weeks working on improving the Swaminarayan Sampradaya article. I hope to begin updating the article soon. However, I realized the ‘Beliefs’ section is referenced to unreliable sources and will need a complete rewrite. If anyone has the availability, could they work on this section? Thank you! Apollo1203 (talk) 21:32, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Apollo1203: I completely forgot about your request. It's been chaotic with this pandemic, especially where I work. I can take a look at that section in the coming days. Thanks for resurfacing. Moksha88 (talk) 02:56, 1 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Moksha88:No problem at all, I've made significant edits to the page. Looking forward to seeing your edits/updates. Apollo1203 (talk) 03:40, 3 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

BAPS Charities Advert Tag

Recently an advert tag placed on the BAPS Charities article and I was hoping someone could review the validity of the tag placed. Apollo1203 (talk) 03:01, 10 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I know a lots going on. I wanted to throw this out if someone else wanted to review. I don't have bandwidth at the moment but stumbled across it doing searches and thought the claims here were rather honorific. Kbhatt22 (talk) 12:55, 1 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Project-independent quality assessments

Quality assessments by Wikipedia editors rate articles in terms of completeness, organization, prose quality, sourcing, etc. Most wikiprojects follow the general guidelines at Wikipedia:Content assessment, but some have specialized assessment guidelines. A recent Village pump proposal was approved and has been implemented to add a |class= parameter to {{WikiProject banner shell}}, which can display a general quality assessment for an article, and to let project banner templates "inherit" this assessment.

No action is required if your wikiproject follows the standard assessment approach. Over time, quality assessments will be migrated up to {{WikiProject banner shell}}, and your project banner will automatically "inherit" any changes to the general assessments for the purpose of assigning categories.

However, if your project has decided to "opt out" and follow a non-standard quality assessment approach, all you have to do is modify your wikiproject banner template to pass {{WPBannerMeta}} a new |QUALITY_CRITERIA=custom parameter. If this is done, changes to the general quality assessment will be ignored, and your project-level assessment will be displayed and used to create categories, as at present.
