The 1808 Virginia gubernatorial election was held on 30 November 1808 in order to elect the
Democratic-Republican nominee and incumbent Speaker of the Virginia House of Delegates Hugh Nelson in a Virginia General Assembly vote.[1]
General election
On election day, 30 November 1808,
Democratic-Republican candidate Hugh Nelson. Tyler was sworn in as the 15th Governor of Virginia on 1 December 1808.[2]
