The 1981 World Table Tennis Championships – Swaythling Cup (men's team) was the 36th edition of the men's team championship.^{[1] [2]}

China won the gold medal defeating Hungary 5–2 in the final. Japan won the bronze medal.^{[3] [4] [5] [6]}
