Orbit and classification
Sarpedon is orbiting in the trailing Trojan camp, at Jupiter's
It orbits the Sun at a distance of 5.2–5.3
semi-major axis of 5.24 AU). Its orbit has an eccentricity of 0.02 and an inclination of 16° with respect to the ecliptic.[4] The body's observation arc begins with its official discovery observation at Nanking.[1]
Physical characteristics
In the
Tholen classification, Sarpedon is similar to a dark D-type asteroid, though with an unusual spectrum (DU).[5][4]
