The Thirty-Ninth National Assembly (
National Assembly of Bulgaria, formed according to the results of the parliamentary elections in Bulgaria, held on 17 June 2001.[1]
History
The 39th National Assembly elected the
NDSV party in a coalition with the DPS, another centrist party. [2] The ODS and the BSP both declared themselves in opposition to the government.[3][4]
During the four years of its term, the 40th National Assembly saw Bulgaria become a Member of NATO and sign its accession treaty to the European Union.[5]
