The 7th Infantry Regiment (Greek: 7ο Σύνταγμα Πεζικού, abbrev. 7 ΣΠ) is a historic infantry regiment of the Hellenic Army, and the predecessor of the 7th Mechanized Infantry Brigade.

History

The 7th Infantry Regiment was established on 19 March 1897,

Greco-Italian War (1940–41), being disbanded on 10 February 1941.[2]

The regiment was re-established on 20 July 1974 at

Evros Prefecture under the 12th Infantry Division.[4]

In March 1996, it was transformed into the 7th Mechanized Infantry Brigade.[5]
