Dr. Santos station is an under-construction Light Rail Transit (LRT) station located on the LRT Line 1 (LRT-1) system in Parañaque. It is part of the LRT-1 South Extension Project. The station would be situated in between Dr. Santos Avenue, C-5 Southlink Expressway and C-5 Extension in Parañaque, a few hundred meters behind SM City Sucat.

History

Dr. Santos station was first planned as part of the Line 1 South Extension, which calls for a mostly elevated extension of approximately 11.7 kilometers (7.3 mi). The extension will have 8 passenger stations with an option for 2 future stations (Manuyo Uno and Talaba).[1] The project was first approved on August 25, 2000 and the implementing agreement for the project was approved on January 22, 2002.[2] However, construction for the extension was repeatedly delayed until the project was shelved years later.

The plans for the southern extension project were restarted as early as 2012 during the

right-of-way acquisitions were cleared.[2]

As of 1 April 2023[update], the project is 82.7% complete; the station itself is 71.1% complete.[4] Phase 1 of the extension (from Redemptorist station to Dr. Santos station) is slated to be operational by the 4th quarter of 2024,[4] with full operations by second quarter of 2027.[5]
