Eglon Township is a township in Clay County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 440 at the 2000 census.

Eglon Township was named directly or indirectly after

Eglon in ancient Palestine.[3]

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 36.0 square miles (93 km2), of which 34.0 square miles (88 km2) is land and 1.9 square miles (4.9 km2) (5.39%) is water.

There were 152 households, out of which 41.4% had children under 18 living with them, 80.3% were married couples living together, 3.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 9.9% were non-families. 8.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 2.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.89, and the average family size was 3.04.

In the township, the population was spread out, with 30.2% under 18, 3.9% from 18 to 24, 24.3% from 25 to 44, 29.8% from 45 to 64, and 11.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females, there were 118.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 119.3 males.
