From 1985 to 1995 Myśliwiec directed Polish-Egyptian excavations at Tell Atrib (the Nile Delta), of the Step Pyramid.

In 2005, he became the recipient of the Prize of the Foundation for Polish Science for the discovery of the tomb of Vizier Merefnebef in the necropolis of Saqqara (Egypt), documented in the monograph The Tomb of Merefnebef.[5] In 2012, he was awarded the Commander's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta.[6]
