The Microascales are an

beetles to living trees and causing cacao wilt and many other economically important diseases. Species in the genus Pseudallescheria (family Microascaceae) are pathogenic to humans[3] The order was circumscribed in 1980.[4] Wijayawardene et al. in 2020 added more families and genera to the order.[5]

Description

The Microascales are characterized by a lack of

synanamorphs; these are classified mostly in the genera Scopulariopsis, Graphium and Scedosporium.[6]
