Pope Township is one of twenty townships in Fayette County, Illinois, United States. As of the 2020 census, its population was 235, and it contained 100 housing units.[1] It was formed from part of Kaskaskia Township in March 1878.

Geography

According to the 2021 census gazetteer files, Pope Township has a total area of 30.29 square miles (78.45 km2), of which 25.42 square miles (65.84 km2) (or 83.94%) is land and 4.87 square miles (12.61 km2) (or 16.06%) is water.[2]
