LaClede Township is one of twenty townships in Fayette County, Illinois, USA. As of the 2020 census, its population was 844 and it contained 374 housing units.[1]

LaClede Township was named for

Pierre Laclede, the founder of St. Louis, Missouri.[2]

According to the 2021 census gazetteer files, LaClede Township has a total area of 36.84 square miles (95.42 km2), of which 36.80 square miles (95.31 km2) (or 99.89%) is land and 0.04 square miles (0.10 km2) (or 0.11%) is water.[3]

The median age was 44.9 years. For every 100 females, there were 101.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 104.8 males.
