Richard Murray (born 4 January 1989, in Cape Town) is a Dutch International Triathlete and coach .

Murray won the Junior

ITU World Triathlon Series in Hamburg in 2012.[2]

At the 2012 Summer Olympics men's triathlon on Tuesday, 7 August, he placed 17th.[3]

In 2014-2015, he was part of ECS Triathlon, an elite club based in Sartrouville, France.[4] At the 2014 Commonwealth Games, he won a silver medal in the mixed team relay and a bronze in the men's triathlon.[5]

He won the Gran Final of the World Triathlon Series (WTS) in Chicago in 2015.[citation needed]

He won the ITU Duathlon World Championships in Asturias (Spain) in 2016.[citation needed]


At the 2016 Summer Olympics men's triathlon on Thursday, 18 August, he placed 4th.[6]
