Tandav for allegedly hurting Hindu sentiments by insulting Hindu religion and Hindu deities. In response, Twitter users called out Srivastav for his hypocrisy. Kapri said that Srivastav had mocked Hindu god Brahma and had joked about Brahma meeting actor Madhuri Dixit and that Brahma's white beard would turn red.[19][20]

In September 2022, stand-up comedian and public figure, comedian Rohan Joshi said that Srivastav had seized every opportunity he got to demean up-and-coming comedians and shamed their comedy as offensive wherever he went to speak. He added, Raju Srivastav "might have told a few good jokes but he understood nothing about the spirit of comedy or about defending someone's right to say something even if you don't agree."[21]

Comedian Sunil Pal considered Srivastav his mentor. Following Shrivastav's death, Pal said, "He would help juniors find gigs. He would also help his juniors financially, made sure they are paid on time and paid well. He brought in a lot of good changes in the comedy circle".[22]
