Issue

"currently the incumbent governor"?

Incumbent is defined as "currently holding the office". Incumbent, like inflammable, is confusing to many people; they think inflammible means not flammable, and incumbent means somehow unable to do something. Most everybody seems to understand "the current governor", though, so that's what I chose to leave in place. ClairSamoht 03:13, 23 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

running mates

Pennsylvania gubernatorial candidates do not "choose" their running mates; candidates for Lieutenant Governor are nominated separately in the primary election.

The entry should be edited to reflect that Catherine Baker Knoll won nomination for another term just as Ed Rendell did; likewise Matthews was nominated to be on the ticket with Lynn Swann.

There was speculation that Rendell would endorse another candidate for Lt. Gov. for his second term, but he did not. Adehoff 15:32, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Work

This article needs some more work. Especially in the lead section. Also, the verb tense needs to be uniformly past tense. --RedShiftPA (talk) 21:57, 28 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

New photo

I added a photo of former Pittsburgh Steeler Lynn Swann at a tailgate party at a Steelers-Eagles pre-season game on August 25, 2006. It is notable because it shows an example of how Swann attempted to leverage his time as a football player into votes, in addition to participating in the Super Bowl parade. It is especially notable since this was an intra-Pennsylvania Steelers/Eagles game. Furthermore, it is well known that Rendell is an avid Eagles fan. It was covered in the Philly Inquirer [1]. The photo from the event is courtesy [2]. The photo has been released under the proper license and approved by OTRS.--Eclipse98 (talk) 15:21, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
