Prior to today, the first sentence said the election will be January 20, with a source that has that date. (The source may have some reliability issues, however. First of all, it has Jan. 20 as the "start date" for the election but November 20, 2011 as the "end date", which is clearly wrong. This apparently is a one-day election, and in any event does not go on for 10 months. Second of all, although the web site appears at first glance to be something "official", the "About" page indicates that it is just one person's web site.) Today someone changed the date to Jan. 15, but left the source as is. I did a Google search and found three different dates on different sites: Jan. 12, Jan. 14 and Jan. 20. Interestingly, I found nothing that said Jan. 15 (except for this Wikipedia article, before I changed it.) I looked at several of the other sources in the article and none of them had the date. The official RNC site is curiously silent on the entire subject of the election, unless I was looking in the wrong places. It seems to me that this information should be easier to verify. However, in light of the fact that the one source that was cited for the date says Jan. 20, I reverted it back to that date, despite the issues with the source. Hopefully someone else can find something more definitive.
