Nuggets aren't locked into the 3 - while they can't be passed by Houston anymore, they can still take the 2 and pass the Clippers if they win out and the Clippers lose out. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2605:E000:1525:D028:3165:33CC:BA9D:56BC (talk) 01:17, 13 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

False seed locks

Why is there an IP user who is insistent on putting teams in seeded positions that they are not locked into yet. Miami and Indiana can both finish 4th or 5th - same for OKC and Houston. I had set these up separate, but the user has reverted me. This is Wikipedia not Wikipredictor.

Play-in game

Is it a part of the playoffs, of the regular season, both, or neither? Howard the Duck (talk) 14:57, 14 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Technically, I believe it is neither; however, it is probably best to keep it in this article as that is where people will look for it. It has never been done before, so there is no real standard for it. On the NHL side though, they also had play-in rounds and those were included in the

I also believe it's neither (but who cares what we think). If TV and the media uses the "NBA Playoffs" branding on the play-in game, I suppose it can be included here. Now, if it isn't, I supposed it can be included, but how? Where should it primarily go? I suppose we can create a new article

The NBA includes the play-in game in its bracket. Therefore it seems the play-in game would be appropriate to include as part of the playoffs. Not worthy of its own article. https://www.nba.com/playoffs 76.115.50.233 (talk) 05:55, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
It does seem to be the case. Howard the Duck (talk) 12:24, 20 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Toronto-Boston series: Road wins

I removed the reference to this series being only the second time the road team won all the games in a 7-game series, in any professional U.S. sport (after the 2019 World Series) because the fact that the entire series was played at a single neutral site (due to the pandemic) makes this 'fact' irrelevant as there were no 'home' or 'road' teams in this series (or any other 2020 NBA Playoff series) Irishtats (talk) 11:58, 28 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
