Which Abbott?

Is this species named after this Abbott ? SP-KP (talk) 10:11, 20 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Seems like it is not (judging by the birth and death years), but strangely nothing showing up in the London Gazette. It was a "Captain Abbott in Arracan" - need to find J.Asiatic Society Bengal 14:601 for Blyth's original note. Interestingly Bo Beolens incorrectly attributes it to the much later W L Abbott. PS: By 1827 he was Captain - John R. Abbott 12th Regiment Native Infantry and interestingly may have had Tickell working with him (1838 Lieut. J. R. Abbott confirmed in office of junior assistant to commissioner of Arracan, from 25 August 1833 [1]) and one of the commissioners of Arracan in that period was Arthur Purves Phayre.
