Princess Abigail Wahi’ika’ahu’ula Kawananakoa

The lady with the Prince of Wales is not Abigail Helen Kapiolani Kawananakoa, but is instead her mother, Princess Abigail Wahi’ika’ahu’ula Kawananakoa, nee Campbell. The photo was taken by in April, 1920 during the Prince of Wale's visit to Hawai'i. Since Abigail H. K. Kawananakoa was born in 1903, she would have been just 17 years old at that time. Clearly the lady in the picture is older than 17 years.

Thanks, because I was thinking the same exact thing based on her mole and photos of her siblings and her mother, that it probably was the wrong Abigail. And also noted in these pages of the Kawananakoas, how they are supposedly heir to the throne, but in reality they weren't. I guess another section, probably under the discussion portion would be helpful to help explain that. Mamoahina (talk) 15:09, 8 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oops, so why didn't someone move the picture? I just did. Her mother was about 38 at the time, which is more reasonable. What is the source for the visit? W Nowicki (talk) 00:12, 18 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Illegitimacy and Father's Will

This copy of the will seems to indicate that she was omitted from her father's will because she was adopted by her grandmother and would inherit property from her and the much larger Campbell Estate. I have yet to see reliable source stating her father declared her illegitimate in his will as I have seen stated elsewhere.--KAVEBEAR (talk) 03:10, 13 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
