I'm a primary source (I worked at LucasArts from 1996-2000), but...

This is all true re Jar Jar Binks:

1) "Stomp" with Ahmed Best was brought in to perform at a Lucas organization wide meeting at the Marin Civic Center just after the ep1 script was completed (George waved the script in the air but didn't let anyone read it). I don't know if Best had been considered yet or if it happened right there. He only spoke once very briefly at the end to exhort the audience to do their own stomping. He used a normal voice.

2) Best was brought on to do motion capture only. Since you generally perform the voice lines while doing mocap (it helps with concentration and timing), they heard him and decided they liked it.

Infamy

"He rose to infamy", seriously? For starring in a movie which have made over $1 Billion at the Box Office? Does Michael Bay's page state that he is actually the Antichrist? It does not and it's a real shame by the way. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.68.49.41 (talk) 02:29, 28 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Making money doesn't assolve from infamy; in some cases, it even adds to it. However, I agree that the sentence is too drastic and not accurately explained, sounding like vandalism. On the other hand, Jar Jar is truly one of the most hated pop culture characters of the past 15 years, and Best often acknowledged it and talked about his own issues due to the character's reception, so the article should mention it somewhere while providing correct sources. Return of the Jedi

I thought it was Matthew Wood who voiced the Gungan in RotJ, not him. I think I read it in the book How Star Wars Conquered the Universe. CamelCase (MyTalk | ConTribs) 01:22, 6 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Also, I can't find any sources saying he WAS in it. An Wookieepedia says it was Matthew Wood as well. CamelCase (Talk | Contribs) 23:02, 13 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

TV show in lede

It appears the "TV show" formerly referenced in the lede was a single pilot, which failed to be picked up. I've moved the sentence to the career section and added a ref to IMDb (I know, I know) but I'd be open to removing the mention altogether. --MasqueDesRonces (talk) 15:12, 5 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Filmography - TV - Obi Wan Series

I'm confused because I see Best being cited for being in the Obi Wan show, with the description of "archive footage". I'm not sure what that means, and as far as I am aware Jar Jar Binks does not show up at any point in the show, as well as Ahmed Best himself tweeting he was not in the show https://twitter.com/ahmedbest/status/1376553196269764618

Contemplated suicide

Should we include the part where he contemplates committing suicide because people hated him and Jar Jar Binks? Blitzfan51 (talk) 01:45, 4 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
