Is there any to date the image?
The umpire for the armature "armature" is a word but I don't think you want that one.
Template:Inflation could be of use to convert the paid money to a current comparison.
Can you link "shot put" and "hurdling" in the lead? Can you link "hurdling" in the main body?

There is not a date for that image. In fact, I was not even able to find the original source or authorship for the image, which is why I personally didn't add it in. While it is more than likely based on how she looks in the photo and based on the time range during which she umpired that the photo was taken before 1923 and is this in the public domain, it would be original research to change the license.
That was a spellcheck-engaged-brain-disengaged error, the word I was looking for, as I'm sure you guessed, was amateur. Anyways, fixed.
I really don't like that template. Simply adjusting a figure for inflation, especially one from this far back, can cause problems. Because inflation and purchasing power don't rise equally, but most people don't really consider that fact when looking at inflation-adjusted figures, I think we're setting up readers for misunderstandings. Case in point, the inflation template says $25 (the upper end of her per-game earnings) from 1906 is $648 today, however we also know that she put herself through four years of college education using the funds from umpiring. If she umpired one game a week for an entire year, she'd have an inflation adjusted $19,188. While this is about what a year at University of Nebraska costs today, it's doubtful that Clement made the full $25 every game, and doubtful that she umpired every week, so Clement would be heavily short in this inflation adjusted but not purchasing power adjusted scenario. All that being said, if you really want it in, I'll work it in.

I've actually seen those sources. The first one can be found on Google news without a paywall, but didn't contain anything that I felt warranted inclusion that wasn't already in the article. The second one is heavily damaged - parts of the article are simply missing - but again I didn't see anything that I felt warranted inclusion that wasn't already in the article. OK. The inflation template comment I feel is fair and valid. If she had bought a ticket or something similar I would insist that it be used, but for a college education the points made are fair. The image date issue is unfortunate, but what can you do? Now, on to sources. I don't feel all relevant sources have been included in the article. On Google Books for instance this has information not included in our article, such as her father's death and what her mother worked as. The publisher
I've incorporated the information you pointed out. I've also sent an email to the South Dakota Sports Hall of Fame inquiring about the date of the image, however I have no idea if/when they will get back to me. I checked the previews for all of the books that had them, and there isn't anything with substantial coverage of Clement, just the basic overview (i.e. no new information). I'd love to see the inside of Umpire in a Skirt: The Amanda Clement Story, but the book is extremely rare and the nearest copy is hundreds of miles away, so it's unlikely that I'll ever be able to use it. That being said, it has the look of an illustrated children's book to me (although one should never judge a book by its cover). What are your thoughts on the article as it stands?
I'm happy where it stands. I agree that Umpire in a Skirt could have more information but it does look like a children's book. In fact looking at it on eBay the target audience is listed as "9–12" and it's only 44 pages, so while it could contain information on Clement I doubt any of it would be new. As the article stands now, I'm happy to pass, but I'm curious as to how the image email will turn out. If they reply let me know what they say. Pass.
