Criticisms

This article is rather heavy with somewhat panoramic detail on the history of the Imperial (later Commonwealth) War Graves Commission, as the events mostly preceded the cemetery's foundation. Because it is excellently covered in the Wikipedia article on the CWGC, I would suggest a major editing of these paragraphs so that the detail on Atherton Cemetery itself forms the bulk and basis of the page. It also incorrectly describes the architects Lutyens and Blomfield as having "fought in the First World War", when they never saw military service, so I will delete the description. A second look over the page leads me to suggest that the first paragraph of the History section which introduces the cemetery and summarises the war grave figures could be amalgamated with the detail currently headed Atherton War Cemetery, as of course text in the latter tells us of the cemetery's development. All the intervening details of the CWGC's earlier history could be deleted.Cloptonson (talk) 21:12, 12 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
