Rappers Delight References

What are the Rappers Delight references to the Bar Kays?

[Verse 10: Master Gee] Well like Johnny Carson on the late show
A like Frankie Crocker in stereo
Well like the Bar-Kays singing 'Holy Ghost'
The sounds to throw down they're played the most
Just like my man Captain Sky
Whose name he earned with his super sperm
We rock and we don't stop
Get off y'all I'm here to give you whatcha got
To the beat that it makes you freak
And come alive girl, uh, get on your feet
A like a Perry Mason without a case
Like Farrah Fawcett without her face
Like the barkays on the mic

You might want to have a closer look at the German article about the Bar-Kays at de:The Bar-Kays (hope that works) If not, try: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bar_Kays

Charles Allen's nickname

Allen's nickname is presented as both Scoop and Scoops. If someone has the correct information it would be great to share it so the correction can be made.THX1136 (talk) 14:00, 23 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Bar-KaysThe Bar-Kays – Recent move made by editor on back of a RfC which has since been overturned. see Wikipedia_talk:Manual_of_Style/Music#RfC:_using_"The"_in_song/album_article_titles. The argument being that the artwork sometimes misses the 'The' on albums. Richhoncho (talk) 10:27, 31 October 2019 (UTC)Relisting. Dekimasuよ! 05:02, 9 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Dicklyon: I think you're the one that made the move. Do you oppose this or can I close it as move? Wug·a·po·des 01:43, 9 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • The issue with this move is not related to the RfC, as Dicklyon says. However, it is a recent move, so "no consensus" would lead to reverting to the stable title. I will relist this for now. Dekimasuよ! 05:02, 9 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
      • But the rationale is wrong. If someone wants it moved back, they should give a reason at least. Dicklyon (talk) 05:51, 9 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose – This is unrelated to the overturned changes at
MOS:THEMUSIC. Look at Bar-Kays albums; most of them don't use "The". Dicklyon (talk) 04:51, 9 November 2019 (UTC)[reply

  • Oppose. This is essentially the same case as
WP:THE case. It's the same as any other "the [insert any company, university, product, service, nonprofit, government agency, park, ocean, mountain, forest, etc. here]" case. The frequent appearance of a "the" before such names in running English is just how the language works; it's not evidence of a required "The" in the name. Such cases are rare (e.g. The Hague), outside the titles of published works (The Hobbit), though are admittedly more common among band names than average (The Beatles).  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  03:14, 16 November 2019 (UTC)[reply
